Recovery time after tummy tuck
Can somebody please tell me about recovery time after tummy tuck? I’m due to have tummy tuck in early December. I have placement for enrolled nursing in late January, Is this do-able ? Thanks to those that help and answer
If u rest a lot !! I think u can still do placement
So rest as much as possible in the 4- 5 weeks before hand and I should be good to go ?

I was only just 11weeks po tummy tuck for my nursing placement, it’s hard & I swelled up from performing manual handling but not too bad
Im a nurse and im returning back to full time work after 6 weeks off.
I’m a personal carer and boy I remember the recovery was very hard at least 6 weeks no lifting or twisting.
Think between 4-6 weeks post after tummy tuck. I just read on tt web site that you can return to work after 2 weeks !! Surely this cant be ? I guess if I have to ill defer…last option.
Some people return to work work at 10days po if it is not strenuous, I was studying & completing assignments at 2-6weeks po & even that was hard sitting for hours completing my assignments & assessments
Just see how you go
6 weeks minimum for no heavy lifting, twisting etc. your timeframe might work but you may have to take it easy with heavy lifting as you need to build back up to that
You may just have to observe the manual handling & strenuous stuff & have it signed off as demonstrated, that’s what I did for mine as I couldn’t help roll or reposition the heavy residents
Thanks girls. Much appreciated. Had a mini melt down today as I was so worried about what to do..and was ready just to defer tomorrow. I really want to complete my nursing now..and manage my tt. Fingers crossed. If I cant do placement then ohh well..ill be more than happy to finally have my tt I probably will be more than happy to set my self back a few weeks and heal then continue my placement
That’s right & there’s always intakes so you wouldn’t even be putting yourself behind much
