Can I take PRP for hair loss if have melasma on my forehead?
PRP for hair loss vs hyperpigmentation
Apr 13, 2022
Hello there! there is no major concern in doing PRP for hair loss in your case, and depending on the treatment used for your forehead hyperpigmentation, you could have both treatments done simultaneously.
Can I get PRP for hair loss with Factor V Leiden?
It is safe to perform PRP for Hair loss in your case
Apr 13, 2022
Hello there! There are no formal contraindications for PRP hair in Factor V Leiden carriers. The main contraindications would be localized infection/ inflammation or current infectious or inflammatory systemic disease. For best results, it is also important to rule out secondary hair loss causes such as vitamin and nutritional deficiencies, anemia, hypothyroid and other chronic diseases. At times a scalp biopsy is needed to confirm hair loss cause and determine if PRP is the right treatment…
How many PRP injections (hair loss/thinning) to maintain/improve results?
Number of session depends on each patient individually
Apr 13, 2022
Hello there! At our practice, we perform 1 session every four weeks. Total number of sessions varies for each patient, but usually ranges from 4-8 sessions. Some patients experience improvement even after one session, but for long lasting results, we recommend a full course of treatments as above and then one maintenance session every 6-12 months.
Can you develop allergy to Sculptra?
Allergic reaction after Sculptra
Mar 29, 2022
Although unusual, it is definitely possible to develop allergies to lidocaine, numbing cream or Sculptra even after multiple previous treatments. Nevertheless, from the symptoms you describe, you had anaphylaxis (which is a form of allergic reaction). Anaphylatic reactions usually occur within 1-2 hours of exposure to the triggering agent, so it is unlikely that the reaction you had 4 days later is from the products used during your Sculptra session. My advice is to consult your family…
Can I get PRP injection or microneedling post Covid 19?
Safe timelines for PRP post-COVID
Mar 29, 2022
Hello there! Since PRP is obtained from your own blood, it should be safe for administration following infections or vaccinations. Due to lack of studies and given the fact PRP is a completely elective treatment, at our practice we recommend a minimum of 2 weeks gap between COVID infection and PRP.
