If you are considering a Brazilian Buttock Lift and Tummy Tuck, it is always advisable to do the BBL first. This will allow you to have enough fat for transfer to reshape the buttocks.
Also, BBL patients are typically asked to sleep on their stomachs, to avoid putting pressure on the newly transferred fat.
Having said that, it is possible to do all of these procedures at the same time as long as the patient is healthy, blood loss is minimal, the amount of fat that would be needed, etc.
I would recommend that you consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for an in-person examination and a discussion of your goals. (Pedro M. Soler, Jr., MD, )
Lower half mommy makeover
You certainly can, it its one of our favorite combinations of procedures to perform. The results can really be outstanding and you should be seen by a plastic surgeon to assess your candidacy. I really wish you well, and thumbs up for the great question! (Jonathan Zelken, MD, Orange Plastic Surgeon)
All three procedures are frequently done together in the appropriate candidate so see some experts in your area (Frederic H. Corbin, MD, Dominican Republic Plastic Surgeon)
Can I get a tummy tuck, lipo and a Brazilian butt lift all at the same time?
We normally combine procedure every time the patient is healthy. if so we don’t see why not doing that combination. (Eduardo Mejia, MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
Yes, it is possible to do both procedures at the same time. Your surgeon will determine if you are a good candidate for the procedures during consultation. (German Newall, MD, Dallas Plastic Surgeon)
Choosing Tummy Tuck Surgeon
When you have two surgeons who have comparable expertise and experience, the deciding factors are the level of understanding of the patient’s objectives and extent of personal connection. (Kris M. Reddy, MD, FACS, West Palm Beach Plastic Surgeon)
Narrowing your choice to two plastic surgeons for tummy tuck
Generally speaking if you have narrowed it down to two board certified plastic surgeons with hospital privileges, it is quite likely that you will do well with either choice.
You may want to discuss your selections with your other physicians such as your gynecologist or internist and ask for their input. (Otto Joseph Placik, MD, Chicago Plastic Surgeon)
Smoking and tummy tuck
First, it is good that you stopped smoking. Studies have shown a significant decreased rate of complications when patients stop smoking several weeks in advance of surgery.
But, some studies suggest that there is still a slight increased risk even if you stopped. As for the question about which surgeon to choose, you have to be comfortable with the surgeon and the staff. You need to know that patients have had good results and recommend the doctor. (Steven Wallach, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Gut feeling and word of mouth!
If both plastic surgeons are board-certified, member of the society, and have good pre and post-operative pictures, you have two ways left to determine:
- Gut feeling : you have to feel safer with one of them.
- You can ask to talk to some of their previous patients. We offer this in my practice as this will give you the inside story. (Hisham Seify, MD, PhD, FACS, Orange County Plastic Surgeon)
Recommendations from reliable sources (your PCP), and your degree of comfort with doctor and office.
Just as if you were looking for a plumber, you need recommendations from people you trust and who would know, like your PCP. Then you have to select someone you feel comfortable with – a doctor with good “bedside manner,” and whose office seems willing to treat you as an individual and not as just another patient, both before and after surgery. (Lee Edstrom, MD, Providence Plastic Surgeon)
