Full liposuction then abdominoplasty later
Complete liposuction of your upper and lower abdomen, flanks, love handles, and lower back will significantly decrease your size in a fashion that can’t be done at the same time as an abdominoplasty due to healing issues.
Once you heal up, you can then go for an abdominoplasty to remove the extra skin and tighten the underlying muscles.
That being said, and if you don’t have the luxury of undergoing two separate procedures, then you can undergo an abdominoplasty with conservative liposuction suction of those regions. You would still have a great result. (Justin Yovino, MD, FACS, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)
Weight loss before abdominoplasty
I would recommend losing some weight first before having an abdominoplasty. At the time of your tummy tuck you can have liposuction of your flanks (love handles), but not your upper/mid abdomen – due to blood supply issues. Consult with a few experienced plastic surgeons before making your decision. (William Bruno, MD, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)
Abdominoplasty with liposuction supplement
Losing about 20 pounds first will give you a much better result but your photos show that the main procedure you need is an abdominoplasty and maybe some supplementary liposuction on the flanks. Lipo alone will not be great because you have too much skin laxity, and probably muscle laxity too. (Richard P. Rand, MD, FACS, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)
Lipo possible but a abdominoplasty will give a better result.
Depending on your expectations, either procedure should show improvement. The best contour will be the product of the abdominoplasty which a bigger operation. (Vincent N. Zubowicz, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
Full liposuction vs abdominoplasty
You are not going to get the best result from either procedure until you get your BMI under 30 and preferably under 125. I think you will be disappointed in the result at your current weight. (Ronald V. DeMars, MD, Portland Plastic Surgeon)
