You should be a good candidate for a tummy tuck. See a board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to discuss what is necessary. It is possible that liposuction would be a good adjuvant procedure regarding the flanks but difficult to say from the photo. (Robert L. Kraft, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Loose streched abdominal skin requires a tummy tuck. You have a typical abdomen for which tummy tuck is the ideal answer. What are you waiting for? (Vasdev Rai, MD, Dallas Plastic Surgeon)
Even you dont have kids and you are a young person, the best procedure when i see your pictures is a tummy tuck, the kind of tummy tuck must be decided with your plastic surgeon so try to get a consultation so you can weight your options and you can decide which procedure is better for you.
Patients with loose skin, as you describe in yourself, are good candidates for tummy tuck. Liposuction removes fat, but does not significantly tighten skin. Nor does liposuction tighten muscles. A tummy tuck or abdominoplasty removes excess and loose skin, removes extra fat, tightens the muscle and contours the abdomen. There is no substitute for a full tummy tuck. (David Shafer, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy tuck will tighten abdominal muscles and get rid of skin laxity
Congratulations for pursuing a healthy lifestyle based on exercise. Based on your photos, you would most likely benefit from a tummy tuck. As discussed by other surgeons, a tummy tuck will tighten the rectus abdominis muscles which can separate and create a “pouch” and will not go away even with exercise and diet. During a tummy tuck the excess skin is surgically removed and the belly button repositioned so that you do not have a “frown.” A board certified plastic surgeon can definitely help you achieve the results you desire. (Mark E. Mason, MD, Dallas Plastic Surgeon)
Skin laxity and muscle separation are the 2 reasons tummy tucks are beneficial. It not only tigthtens the skin, but also resets the abdominal muscle tone to create a tight abdomen. (Christopher J. Kovanda, MD, Minneapolis Plastic Surgeon)
Am I a candidate for a tummy tuck?
Sorry, but the photos are totally inadequate to make any worthwhile recommendatins for you. You would need standing photos front and side from breast to thigh. From the information you gave it may be a good procedure for you but no way to be sure without above photos, or better, an exam. Probably time to get a consultation. (Ronald V. DeMars, MD, Portland Plastic Surgeon)
You appear to be an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck and should have an excellent result. Make certain you go to a board certified plastic surgeon who has experience in the procedure, can explain all your options and can show you before and after pictures.
Don’t be afrain to ask questions until you are satiesfied with being well informed and understand what is being said. (John P. Stratis, MD, Harrisburg Plastic Surgeon)
Based on the photos, it appears that you would be a great candidate for a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck will remove all the extra skin and tighten up your muscles to achieve a flatter tummy. I recommend seeing a plastic surgeon for a consultation and examination. (Eugene Kim, MD, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)
Its difficult to tell from your photos if you are a good candidate for Tummy tuck. A tummy tuck removes extra skin from the abdomen. Looking at your photo with the pinch in it you seem to have some extra skin to be removed. The only way to tell is with a physical exam. Make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to have a full evaluation. (Adam Saad, MD, Atlantic City Plastic Surgeon)
First, congrats on the weight loss and congrats again at keeping it off. The problem you describe is a very common one. It is also exactly the kind of thing that a tummy tuck addresses. A tummy tuck has three goals in my opinion.
- Remove as much extra skin and fat as is possible
- Tighten the muscles that often get stretched apart as a part of weight gain or child birth
- Improve the shape of the abdomen as either weight gain or child birth tend to leave a rectangular shape rather than the curves that are hidden beneath.
There are many ways to accomplish these goals and, truly, they need to be fit to you, your lifestyle and your body. A good consultation with a plastic surgeon who is comfortable with the many variations and who makes you feel comfortable can be worth a ton to someone in your position.
Keep looking until you find the right surgeon. As an aside, many tummy tucks use drains. I have, in the last year, become a huge believer that drains are an unnecessary nuisance and that results without them are actually improved. Might be worth consideration. (Jeremy Pyle, MD, Raleigh-Durham Plastic Surgeon)
