Answer Snippet
What is the longest lasting temple filler?
Long lasting treatments.
May 20, 2019
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we have not found the holy grail that makes our faces retain their youthfulness forever. Our face is subject to volume loss as we age and/or lose weight. Hollowing of the temples comes from loss of muscle mass and fat over time. Radiesse restores some of that volume in the short run as a filler, and it also acts as a biostimulant that tells your body to make more collagen which also restores some volume. Other…
I look like i have to marbles on the side of my mouth should i keep massaging to bring it down?
Get evaluated
May 20, 2019
Thank you for your question. If you have concerns with your appearance after the swelling goes down (can take 1-2 weeks), you should get re-evaluated by your injector. This is especially important if there is persistent pain, redness, or swelling, since those are indicators for an infection that may need further treatment.
How long until effects of Radiesse become less noticeable?
On average, 12-18 months
May 20, 2019
Thank you for your question. Changes to your face can be caused by many different factors, including injections with fillers. Things like weight change, aging, sun damage, water retention, illness, allergies, and more can take you away from your desired look. In general, since Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite filler, it persists longer than the hyaluronic acid type fillers, with approximate retention of of 9 months to 2 years based on the literature. …
Can I take Zyrtec allergy medicine after Radiesse?
Yes!
May 20, 2019
Thank you for your question. There are no known contraindications with Zyrtec and Radiesse, so it should be safe to take Zyrtec after you have had a treatment using Radiesse.
Lumps in Jaw line after Radiesse fillers. 10 days post Is it still swelling or will these lumps be he
Fixing Radiesse
May 20, 2019
Thank you for your question and photo. It can be challenging to fix problems with Radiesse, since it is a calcium hydroxylapatite filler and not a hyaluronic acid filler that can be dissolved easily. Some of the options include steroid injections (which carry their own risk), surgical removal, mechanical disruption, and softening the contour abnormality with additional filler near the affected area.
What surgery would I need for a innie belly button and flat stomach?
Umbilocplasty and/or Abdominoplasty
Apr 1, 2019
Thank you for your questions. To get an innie belly button only, you can have an umbilicoplasty performed which can be performed with local anesthesia in the office. To smooth out the lower tummy you could do a mini-abdomioplasty, which in some circumstances can be performed in the office. To get a fully flat tummy I would recommend an abdominoplasty, a procedure where the belly button can also be fixed, but that needs to be done in the operating room under…
Will my internal cavity become longer/narrower with umbilicoplasty/belly button surgery?
New belly button
Mar 22, 2019
Thanks for your question. After surgery, you will have significant swelling, which can take months to resolve. If you decide you don’t like it after about 6 months, you can get a revision. It shouldn’t affect your intra-abdominal pressure since your belly button attaches to the outer layer of muscle.
I had a breast augmentation with silicone. I think it is 424cc. Will I need a lift?
Need a lift?
Mar 19, 2019
Thank you for your question. Dealing with capsular contracture and needing a lift (mastopexy) are often separate considerations, but if you plan to remove the implant without replacing it there is a possibility you may need one to compensate for that volume loss. The likelihood will be higher if you have large implants in currently. A photo would help in your specific case, and I recommend getting evaluated by a plastic surgeon to explore your options.
Is saline safer than cohesive gel? Why doesn’t anyone use saline anymore?
Saline vs Silicone
Mar 19, 2019
Thank you for your questions. In terms of safety, both saline and silicone cohesive gel implants are safe for breast augmentation. They have different pros and cons, and in general gel silicone implants have more advantages. Saline implants, when ruptured, deflate very quickly causing a more obvious deformity to the breast. Silicone implants can have “silent ruptures”, where even if the capsule breaks, there may be very little to no noticeable difference…
Are my implants too big? I cannot afford another revision
Give it some time.
Mar 12, 2019
Thank you for your question. There is a lot of swelling that happens early in the postoperative period, and your final result will likely be smaller. Hang in there and give your body some time to recover.
What caused the double bubble that I’ve had with my breast augmentation, and what should be done to c
Implants too large
Mar 12, 2019
Thank you for your question. The likely cause of your result is that the base diameter of the implants is too large for your chest, which caused your fold to drop. The lower crease is your new inframammary fold, and the upper crease is your old fold. The best solution may be to have those implants removed and replaced with smaller ones.
I had an arm lift 8 weeks ago, and my skin still looks “bubbly”. Should I be concerned? I’ve never se
No
Feb 18, 2019
Thank you for your question. Your photo looks like normal healing over time. Early on during the healing process, the stitches are used to hold the incision together and offload the tension. The puckering/bubbling you see is a result of the swelling from all the surrounding tissue. As the sutures get absorbed and the swelling goes down, that appearance will improve.
Is it possible to have arm reduction corrected?
Yes
Feb 18, 2019
Thank you for your questions. Arm lift revisions can be performed, however you will likely need to wait several months for the healing from your first surgery before doing so. The difference between your arms may be just due to your arms resolving the swelling differently, your final result may be quite different than what you have now.
Pain over a year after brachioplasty. Is this normal?
No
Feb 18, 2019
Thank you for your question. Pain lasting this long is atypical. There are a lot of nerves scattered across your body, and surgery can cause trauma to them with unusual results. One cause may be due to a nerve ending that didn’t heal correctly resulting in a neuroma. This can be treated with surgery. A plastic surgeon can evaluate you for this as well as fix the other cosmetic issues you are having.
Does my hanging arm require an arm lift or will it bounce back?
Other options
Feb 18, 2019
Thank you for your question. If you plan to lose more weight, the answer may change depending on how your skin reacts when you hit your goal. An arm lift will definitely improve the contour of the arm, which will leave you with a scar on your inner arm. Based on the photo you look like a candidate for liposuction and Bodytite, which can help tighten the skin and remove some of the residual excess fat.
