Although all patients vary in recovery, usually it will take 3-6 months for all post operative swelling to resolve. The resumption of your exercise routines may contribute to prolonged soft tissue swelling, but will not affect your long term result. It is also important for you to know that skin re-draping will continue to improve for at least 6 months following liposuction. Try to be patient while your body heals for several months following your procedure.

I am glad to hear you are doing well following your tummy tuck. Although laughing may increase or prolong your post operative discomfort, it will not adversely affect your long term result. If internal sutures were placed at the time of surgery, they are strong enough to withstand your laughing… I wish you a continued uneventful recovery.

It is always difficult to give you a definitive answer by looking at pictures only. I would encourage you to visit a couple of plastic surgeons who are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and who have extensive experience with body contouring procedures for patients with a history of massive weight loss. Only then can an expert opinion be given to you. Having said that, it is uncommon to require a midline vertical incision with a tummy tuck. Very good results can be obtained…

A tummy tuck usually includes tightening the muscles as an integral part of the procedure. This increases post operative discomfort. The use of a long acting local anesthetic called Exparel can help minimize this discomfort following surgery. Everyone has a different pain tolerance following surgery. You may be fine to care for yourself after 5 days, but I would recommend you have a back up plan for an additional 2-5 days just in case…

Yes, you can request removal of only the extra loose skin of your abdomen. This is a less painful procedure, but also less effective in achieving the best result. I am sure that following two pregnancies, you will have some laxity (diastasis) of your abdominal muscles. Your truncal contour can be significantly improved with tightening these muscles at the time of surgery. I would strongly encourage you to consider this as an option to maximize the benefit of the procedure.

Both are contributing factors.You will have some post operative swelling of the abdominal tissue for as long as 6 months after your abdominoplasty. Therefore, you can not make an accurate assessment until then. You can discuss potential future truncal contouring with your surgeon at that time.

You appear to be a great candidate for a breast lift. This procedure will make your breasts more upright and perky in appearance, as well as, reposition the nipple to a better location on your breasts. If you wish for your breasts to be any smaller, then a breast reduction could be performed which includes a breast lift.

It is normal to have soft tissue swelling following surgery. This will usually resolve in the first six weeks. The volume of your breast does not change with a breast lift because breast tissue is not removed with this procedure. Your shape obviously changes with a breast lift which can make your breasts appear smaller and fit differently in your bra.

As stated by others, it is difficult to give you accurate information about wound healing by online pictures. You incisions do not look abnormally red and they appear to be intact and healing satisfactorily. You may be having some skin reaction due to the stitches beginning to dissolve under the skin. Please call your surgeon and request to be evaluated in person. I wish you the best.

It is always the safe thing to have close followup with your surgeon and be seen in person. This may just be a little bruising and a little blood on your tape over the incisions. I wish you the best.

Well the short answer is yes, it is certainly possible for a breast lift to change skin and/or nipple sensation. However, this may be only a temporary change and it usually returns to normal. It is possible to have either decreased sensation or hypersensitivity of the skin or nipple following all types of breast surgery. It is rare to have permanent loss of sensation. The benefits of the breast surgery far outweigh the risks. I wish you the best.

No worries regarding flying in the day before surgery. Stay well hydrated on this day because you will not be able to drink fluids or eat anything after midnight before surgery.You will need to discuss with your surgeon in detail your expected post operative care. A breast lift will make your breast appear more upright in appearance reducing the overhang of the breasts. It will also elevate the nipple and areolar complex to a more central position on the breast and restore some upper pole fullness..Although no breast tissue is removed with the lift, your breast may appear smaller and fit into a bra differently….
