I'm considered obese my BMI is at 40.9 liposuction or tummy tuck be safe for me?
Tummy tuck or lipo with BMI 40.9
May 25, 2019
Tasha, it is great that you are thinking about safety before jumping into a surgery. With your current BMI, there are considerations for both the safety of either surgery but also what can be accomplished and how satisfied you are likely to be with the results. You would be less likely to have complications from surgery and/or anesthesia at a lower BMI. After tummy tuck in particular you will certainly be more satisfied your hard-earned dollars got you at a lower BMI. No one's...

25 days post-op TT concerns
May 8, 2019
It looks like there are some areas of your abdomen that should be evaluated by your surgeon. Firm areas or "bumps" under the skin are not uncommon after this surgery, and often resolve on their own with time, simple massage, or treatments like ultrasound. But, you may need some additional care for the hip to hip scar line and the belly button. Keep them clean, and schedule an appointment soon with your surgeon or if that's not possible, a Board-certified Plastic surgeon near you. Best...
Can I have an extended tummy tuck if I have Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome?
Cardiology consult recommended for Wolff-Parkinson-White
May 8, 2019
However it happened, I am very glad that you found this condition before it found you! WPW can be a very serious, and even fatal, heart electrical issue. Whether you plan to have your tummy tuck or not, you should be seen by a cardiologist, who will likely also have you evaluated by an interventional cardiologist. Often this condition can be corrected with what is called an ablation procedure to "fix" the bad electrical circuit(s). Once it is corrected, if you are healthy...
Bruising after breast lift/augmentation. Should I be concerned?
Normal bruising
Mar 19, 2019
From your photo, it looks like most of your bruise is a yellow color, meaning that it is fading. Some bruising after breast lift/augmentation is expected, and tends to be worst at the lowest part of the breast. As long as the bruising is not getting darker and/or new bruises are not appearing, you are probably right on track. If you have any worries, don't hesitate to call your surgeon. Best wishes with your new breasts!
Can I get my nipple pierced after breast lift?
Nipple piercing
Mar 19, 2019
If you had only a lift (no implants) and are fully healed then having a nipple piercing should be fine. If you experienced increased nipple sensation after your lift, you may find that the piercing process itself is more sore, but may given some increased stimulation in the long run. But, if it's the lift that you are unhappy with, I would encourage you to have a discussion with your surgeon or another ABPS Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area before jumping into getting piercings....
Muscle contractions after TT. Will this feeling eventually stop?
Be patient with your body, but you may need some medications
Jul 27, 2018
Congratulations on your new tummy! Muscle discomfort, spasms, and tightness are very common after tummy tuck surgery when the rectus (6-pack) muscles are tightened back together. It is very similar to what you might experience after doing WAY too many crunches or other ab activities. I usually prescribe a muscle relaxant for my tummy tuck patients, which really helps with this sensation and a lot of the post-surgery discomfort. If you don't have this already, you might ask...
