Can I get implants without a lift?
Implants without a lift?
Mar 26, 2015
Doing a breast reduction ultimately results in lifting the breast. When you say you want a reduction and implant, but not a lift and implant, it becomes confusing because you can't achieve one without the other. You really can't have a reduction without a lift. You could have implants without any other procedure, but when the breasts are saggy, the final result often makes your breasts look like they are "falling off" the implant. In my...
From 397 cc silicone med profile to 575 cc silicone med profile will there be a noticeable change
Implant Exchange for More Volume
Mar 26, 2015
Without photos or a physical exam, it is difficult to say how much change you will see but I would expect a noticeable increase in fullness with this implant size. Don't be afraid to show your PS photographs of women that are similar to your body-type and post-op goals. Be open to his/her recommendations, as well. Sometimes patients get too fixed on the number of cc's versus the final result. The number isn't as important as the aesthetic outcome. ...
Best age to perform upper lid blepharoplasty?
What age for eyelid surgery?
Mar 26, 2015
Upper blepharoplasty can be performed on patients whose ages vary widely. More than age, the appropriateness of the procedure is determined on the physical exam and what the patient would like to see, as far as changes go. I have performed this surgery on patients from their 30's and up with great results. Best of luck to you!
Breast implants. I feel the implants moving around. Should this be happening?
Feeling the implants move
Mar 26, 2015
It is normal to feel your implants move slightly. This may be enhanced, at first, by any fluid in the breast pocket. This will resolve during the post-operative course. Don't hesitate to ask your PS about any of your concerns at your post-op visits. Eventually, you become accustomed to the implants and you don't notice them at all. Best of luck to you!
Tummy and breasts - full tummy tuck or mini? Breast lift, breast implants or breast reduction? (photo
Mommy Makeover
Mar 26, 2015
From the photos you posted, a tummy-tuck with muscle repair will help the bulging of your abdomen. For the breasts, I would recommend a lifting procedure. You may want to consider an implant, even though you are comfortable with your volume. I find that some women feel their breasts appear smaller after lifting because your skin is tighter and the breasts do not have such an oblong shape. Also, an implant helps you to recover the lost upper pole fullness that most...
Worried about how I should be feeling on PO day 6. Am I expecting too much or is this normal?
6 days Post-Op
Mar 26, 2015
It is very normal to feel tired and easily fatigued with exertion immediately after surgery. Most patients are feeling much stronger after the first three weeks of healing. You do need to notify your surgeon if you develop a fever or any other signs of infection. Best of luck to you!
Is it possible to go from over the muscle to under without getting a lift? I'm in my early 30s, 120 l
Changing Implant Placement to Under the Muscle
Mar 26, 2015
From the photo submitted, I would think you could change to under the muscle without needing a lifting procedure. If you feel the breast is drooping after adequate healing time (approximately 6 months), you could always have a lifting procedure done at that time.
On suboxone for 6 years, would a surgeon deny me to get a breast augmentation?
Suboxone Management
Mar 26, 2015
I have done successful breast augmentation for patients on suboxone, but the medication needs to be managed by the patient's prescribing doctor. This will be difficult for you since you are not following with a physician for this medication. Be honest with your PS and Anesthesiologist because of the use of narcotics for pain management and anesthesia. Your PS may require that you be under a physician's care for the Suboxone before doing any surgery. Best of luck to you.
I'm 4'9, 93lbs, looking at 350cc or 375cc, but not wanting to look too large. Which will look better?
350cc or 375cc?
Mar 26, 2015
In my experience, a 25cc difference in volume will make almost no visible difference to the patient. The best thing you can do now is to make sure your Plastic Surgeon has a clear understanding of your goals and allow him/her to make that final decision based on his technique, your body, and your final goal. Best of luck!
Do some people not have bruising from Pulse laser dye treatment?? If so, why not?
May or May Not Be Bruised
Mar 18, 2015
When treating scars with Pulsed Dye Laser, I expect to see some bruising but this can happen in varying degrees. When performing the treatment, your Plastic Surgeon should be able to see the vessels react to the light. Depending on the amount of vascularity and treatment settings used, this reaction may fade to a red within a few seconds and not stay a bruised color. This having been your first treatment, your doctor is still getting to know how your skin responds. ...
What is the best way to get rid of telangiectasia?
Treatment of Telangiectasia
Mar 18, 2015
In my experience, PDL is a safe, effective way to lessen the appearance of these vessels. You may experience some bruising after this treatment, but pain is minimal and the treatment only takes a few minutes. You will need to be sure you apply sun screen diligently for at least two weeks after your laser treatment to avoid hyperpigmentation. Best of luck!
I am allergic to Bacitracin; what is the best skin care for pulsed dye laser to port wine stain on fa
Post-op Care
Mar 18, 2015
When treating Port Wine Stain with pulse-dye laser, I recommend intense sun protection. Use high SPF and reapply regularly throughout the day. I find that my patients do well without any ointment, but if needed Aquaphor Healing Ointment is my recommendation.
Are there any contraindications for timing pulsed dye laser treatments too close to each other?
Time Between Laser Treatments
Mar 18, 2015
The time required between each treatment depends on what is being treated. When treating Rosacea, I usually recommend treatments be done 4 weeks apart. If the patient has a treatment that causes bruising, 6-8 weeks is better. Hope this helps!
Should I choose 240 low profile or 287 mid profile? 5'4, 110 pounds with some breast tissue
Implant size
Nov 10, 2014
I find that a moderate or mid profile implant gives you a nice balance between width and projection. Most women want a little more forward projection, which the moderate profile gives you without sacrificing any cleavage obtained with the augmentation. The difference in volume you are asking about is so little that I don't think you could even tell the difference once you had surgery.Based on your photos, you should have a great result. Best of luck!
Should I get a breast lift as well as an augmentation?
Lift too?
Nov 10, 2014
In my opinion, breast lifting is needed in your case. You could do it after your implants have settled and healed, though, if you are "on the fence" after discussing this with your surgeon. As to bra size, I find this varies a great deal, as, I'm sure, you do also. Instead of focusing on bra size, concentrate on the aesthetic outcome you would like to achieve. Best of luck to you!
