Smoking cigarettes can result in poor healing, skin necrosis (skin turns black and dies), and poor scars. Smoking even a few cigarettes per day is not recommended prior to any plastic surgery procedure where the skin is lifted and pulled such as breast reduction, breast lift, tummy tuck and facelift just to name a few. You should have a frank discussion regarding smoking with your plastic surgeon.
