You are a good candidate
Mar 20, 2017
You should do well. A full abdominoplasty is a big operation and you should not think otherwise. But having said that the technique when done by a board certified plastic surgeon generally is safe with good cosmetic outcomes. This procedure makes a lot of people happy.
Good luck. Get a few consultations arranged.

Will the skin around the scar smooth out?
May Take Some More Time
Feb 23, 2017
Keep communicating with your surgeon. Waiting a little longer may be needed or maybe a revision in the future. Sometimes additional liposuction is needed to flatten things a little more. It sounds like you are on the right track.

Do plastic surgeons still use the pain med catheter during tummy tucks?
Experal – Long Acting Marcaine
Feb 23, 2017
I don’t use a pump but right before I close the skin I inject the muscle repair and the skin incision with a medicine called Exparel. It is a numbing medicine that lasts for about 72 hours. It has really helped my patients decrease the pain in the immediate post-op period.

Abdominal lipo deformity. Left a huge dent. Is it fixable?
Sorry About Your Problem
Feb 15, 2017
It is unclear to me why you healed this way. You did not mention some things in your post that may be related. Did you have regular liposuction or some kind of laser liposuction? Did you have any postoperative minor complications, such as a fluid collection or a blood collection? The indentation that you have has an extremely unusual appearance for liposuction healing. I would keep in good communication with your surgeon and I would give it many more…
Why am I not flat after a full TT?!
Still Swelling
Feb 11, 2017
This early post op you still have routine surgical swelling. I have found there are two phases of swelling with tummy tucks. The first phase is the post op swelling and possible a mild fluid collection that can last for 6 to 12 weeks. Then, around 3 to 5 months out there is another subtle period of swelling that I believe has to do with lymph fluid collection in the tissues.
Give it time.

Almost 1 year post op & I’m still very asymmetrical. Is it just my anatomy?
Fold A Bit Tight, Continuation Of Your Pre-op Anatomy
Feb 11, 2017
Good Question,
If you look at your own pre-op photo carefully you will see that you left inframammary fold was a little tighter, a little more defined. After you augmentation, that anatomy is still showing a bit. That fold probably did not release as well when you surgeon was doing the dissection for the implant. And he/she was probably being cautious (rightly so) and not being too aggressive with releasing that fold. You never want to get an implant too low. …
What sort of results could I expect?
Should Be Good
Feb 7, 2017
You look like you could have a good result, especially with your planned additional weight loss. You will need muscle plication. Be aware that a lot of your stretch marks will be left behind. Anything not within the limits of the excision will be left behind. Some may be shifted downward, but a lot will be left.

Double bubble?
A Little Implant Show Due To Your Old Fold
Feb 7, 2017
Looking at your photos it seems that your pre-op breast must have a tight fold and you had some glandular ptosis of your breast tissue. So, in that case you surgeon has to lower the placement of your implants slightly lower than your natural fold. Standard technique, unless it can be avoided with an augmentation and a breast lift.
So what you are seeing is the bottom of your implant and the indentation of you old inframammary fold. That will probably relax some more with…
Lift only or lift with implants? Photos)
Lift Only, Probably Do Not Need Implants
Jan 10, 2017
Thanks for your question,

I look like you have a lot of your own breast tissue. With that amount of breast volume you would probably;y need a lift only. Be aware, that sometime it is hard to do a lift on big breasts. The skin tightening that must be done in a lift can make it difficult to close the skin around all of that breast tissue that needs to be lifted. There are some patients that fall into this middle zone of breast size, they are big, but don’t really want…

9 weeks post breast augmentation with lift. Is this normal?
There Are A Couple Of Issues
Dec 12, 2016
Thanks for your question. I think the key to understanding where you are now is appreciating your breast anatomy in your pre-op photo. It seems to me that you have the type of breast anatomy that maybe should have had an aggressive breast lift first and then do the augmentation 8 to 12 months later. The reason I say this is because your picture shows what looks like a bad Grade 2 ptosis on the right side with a deep upper pole scoop. Many women do not want to have 2…
Can liposuction of the abdomen be done at the same time as a tummy tuck?
Risky To Be Aggressive With Liposuction In The Front
Dec 9, 2016
When doing a full abdominoplasty it is very disruptive to the blood supply to the front skin flap. Therefore, it is dangerous to do liposuction to the front skin flap and compromise the blood supply even more. It could lead to poor wound healing and skin necrosis. I think your surgeon did the right thing. Perhaps communicating this problem with you ahead of time would have helped you understand this issue better.

It is safer to do the liposuction later if it is…

May Need Some Adjusting
Dec 7, 2016
Seems like you do have a little unevenness. At 7 months out I am not sure it will improve much more on it’s own.

You may have to consider some additional fine liposuction to even things out and a mini-abdominoplasty to tighten the skin a bit.

Do I need a breast lift or breast augmentation?
Probably Need Some Nipple Adjustment
Dec 7, 2016
Looking at your photos it seem like you are at least a Grade 1 ptosis. Perhaps a Grade 2 ptosis. I think it would be difficult to augment you without an adjustment, upward of your nipples. Maybe you would only need a donut mastopexy, maybe something more. Be careful about recommendations that a larger implant size will make up for your low nipples, that never holds up over time.

Is it OK to wear a t-shirt underneath the compression garment for more comfort?
Should be OK
Dec 7, 2016
Thanks for your question. I always allow my patients to do this. I even allow them to do it under a binder after a tummy tuck. I would clear it with your surgeon.

I am scheduled to have a Botox brow lift. How effective are they in lifting?
Will Be Subtle
Nov 8, 2016
Thank you for your question.

Botox works by weakening the muscle it is injected into. The muscles of the upper face are always trying to balance each other out (as are muscles in the rest of the body).

So, you forehead muscles (frontalis) want to pull your brows upward, and your frowning muscles (corrugators) and your eye closing muscles (orbicularis oculi) want to pull your brows downward. Think of it like balancing on a see-saw as a kid. If you weaken the downward…
