Answer Snippet
Can I do a collagen powder supplement after ARTAS?
Nutrtional supplements
Jul 18, 2019
Resuming your nutritional supplements should be fine after your ARTAS procedure. It's always good to go over your medications and supplements with your surgeon before and after your procedure to discuss the possibility of ant of them having an effect on your procedure both before and after.
Does microneedling/PRP plump the face or does it just build collagen that works on the skin quality?
Microneedling won't plump you up
Jul 17, 2019
Any micro needling treatment you get is more of a superficial treatment that promotes collagen production in your skin resulting in improved skin texture and often helps with acne scarring. Adding Radiofrequency like the Profound to the micro needling helps improve the effects even more. Any plumping of the face has to do with the amount of fatty tissue in your face that degrades with time resulting in a deflated appearance but that can be compensated for with fillers.
What kind of medical procedure can fix my acne scarring between my eyebrows?
Progressive treatments may be best
Jul 17, 2019
You may want to start with micro needling as a first option and progress to more aggressive treatments. Microneedling with PRP and even radio frequency micro needling can help improve the appearance of scars but having fillers done in this area is risky as it could cause necrosis of the soft tissue in the region and possibly even blindness. None of these treatments will 100% get rid of the scarring but they will help improve the appearance. Best of luck!
Do I need more filler in my lips to correct the unevenness?
Subtle asymmetry
Jul 17, 2019
The amount of asymmetry you have is subtle and I would not recommend any further filler to balance it out. If you would like you can discuss with your injector if you need more time, more massaging or if you would benefit form having some of it or all of it dissolved and starting over.
Is it possible for the nose to grow as a side effect of fillers and laser treatments?
Nose not growing
Jul 17, 2019
Based on the treatments that you have had, there should not be any concern that they have caused your nose to grow. As time progresses, our facial features change with deflation and sagging of tissue which may cause an appearance of changes to other structures but the nose does not continue to grow with age after a certain point.
Also keep in mind that different lighting can accentuate different features of your face that you may have not noticed before.
Do leaking silicone implants cause hives?
Hives due to silicone may be unlikely
Jul 17, 2019
The reaction of hives to ruptured silicone implants is not a commonly known reaction. The implant types that you have based on their age are likely not as cohesive as they are today. Signs of ruptured silicone implants can be a redness to the skin and hardening of the breasts.
The best course of action is to see a plastic surgeon and discuss having an MRI or Ultrasound to determine if there is indeed a rupture. Be sure to gather your operative reports (if you have them) as this is...
Can you advise on a mole on side of my face that is getting pretty big?
For peace of mind...
Jul 17, 2019
If your mole is changing and getting larger it would be best to have your mole evaluated by a surgeon that can remove it and leave a cosmetically pleasing scar in that region. Since you have no insurance I would talk to a few plastic surgeons that preform mole removals and see what their fees are. When you go for your initial consult, be sure to discuss if they think the lesson needs to be sent for pathology and what those fees would be. Also be sure to discuss if the pathology fees are paid...
Follow-Up Question: 3 months post op breast lift/augmentation and I have a tender lump. PS thinks it
Possibly a Suture
Jul 17, 2019
Most likely it is a suture that is working its way to the surface which can happen after surgery. It would be best to discuss this with your plastic surgeon and ask if the sutures they used in this area were dissolvable. This may pass with time or the suture material may surface. Discuss with your plastic surgeon if they think you need antibiotics. Depending on what you had done and if there is an implant present they may decide to put you on antibiotics or not.
I’m getting a lift and implants. I go in Friday at 7 am Friday and have to be back in class by Monda
A great discussion to have with your Surgeon
Jul 17, 2019
Everyone recovers differently and this is a great question to discuss with your surgeon and the surgical plan you both have agreed on. I would be prepared to miss classes that day in case you are still uncomfortable and unable to drive that day. However I would discuss with your surgeon that if you are pain free and not taking any pain narcotics then see what their thoughts are on you attending your classes. Hope everything went well for you!
Can I get approved for a panniculectomy after 4 c sections?
You may want more than a panniculectomy....
Jul 15, 2019
If you are interested in having excess skin and fat removed from the abdomen then a panniculectomy may be what you are after, but that will only address the skin and tissue below the belly button. Panniculectomies can sometimes be covered by insurance if you meet certain criteria. However if you are interested in a slimmer waist line with removal of skin and fatty tissue from the abdomen AND waist then a abdominoplasty with possible liposuction may be more appropriate for you. Also after 4...
Is it a good idea to conceal FUE hair transplant scarrings with SMP (scalp micropigmentation)? (phot
SMP is a great option!
Jul 3, 2019
If you want to hide your FUE scars, then SMP is a great option to do so. But be ware, there are facilities that use pigments that turn colors over time resulting in a blue or green appearance and will leave you needing to have corrective laser work and a revision SMP session to correct it. I recommend my patients go to BRAVI in Austin, TX. The staff there have pioneered specific pigments that do not turn blue or green with time and in fact they have clients...
Why is my tummy not flat after a TT and muscle repair 5 months ago? I’m a petite woman who works out
Might need some fine tuning
Jun 3, 2019
You have some great questions. Your scar appears to be hypertrophic at this time and not so much Keloid. Keloid scars tend to spread way beyond the borders of the original scar. Your scars look more in line with hypertrophic scars and can be treated in a number of ways. The best way to go about this would be to discuss your scars with your plastic surgeon and see what can be done. Sometimes you can get steroid injections to have them settle down or you may need a scar revision. It would be...
Why do I have a bump 4 mos. post op tummy tuck?
More time night be needed...
May 18, 2019
Thank you for the photos you shared. At 4 months post op you likely still have some slight swelling that is occurring in some areas of your abdomen. This swelling typically resolves at about 6 months post op but with the symptoms you describe with your abdominal binder causing it to regress you may want to talk to your plastic surgeon about it. This way they can get a better idea of what is going on with the area and maybe even do an ultrasound to determine if there is a seroma (fluid...
If the capsule is not removed during breast implant explantation can it cause irregularities you can
Not "complicated" but more involved
May 18, 2019
To remove the capsules for breast implants isn't necessarily complicated but it is more involved than removing your implants and leaving the capsules. The capsules if they are thin can be left behind without increased risk of problems afterwards. Removing the capsules can result in removing extra tissue from the breasts or increase the risk of damaging other structures during the capsulectomies (surgically removing the capsules). Even if you had the capsules removed you could still be...
Head itchy/tingly on top 2.5 months post op. Could this be hairs coming through?
Could be new growth coming in
May 18, 2019
Considering the time frame and the feelings you are having I would say that you are entering the growth phase of your hair restoration journey. If you begin having uncontrollable itching or become concerned about these symptoms I think it would be best to follow up with your hair transplant surgeon.
