The extended tummy tuck is a good option depending on what your doctor is going to do. I would think the best contour improvement would be with a circumferential body lift.
This procedure takes me 4 hours and you go home after the procedure with an ON-Q pain pump.
Some doctors take a long time for this procedure and may have you spend the night in the hospital which is fine but cost more. (Gregory Lynam, MD, Richmond Plastic Surgeon)
Extended tummy tuck
I think a regular tummy tuck with some removal of the fat below Scarpa’s fascia in the upper abdomen as well as liposuction of the hips and outer thighs would do you well. (Julio Garcia, MD, Las Vegas Plastic Surgeon)
Extended tummy tuck vs. circumferential
You have done well with your weight loss. Certianly an extended tummy tuck would be of benefit to you if you are looking to improve your front and sides.
Liposuction is usually performed along with tummy tuck to further accentuate the hour glass look. If you desire a lifted appearance to the back side/buttock area, then a circumferential tummy tuck would be chosen. (Pablo Prichard, MD, Phoenix Plastic Surgeon)
You did what I normally send at least 60% of the patients that contact me to do before a Tummy Tuck. You are, right now, an excellent candidate for a classic Tummy Tuck.
The only thing I would add (as you also mentioned) is Liposuction to enhance your body silhouette and smooth your feminine curves. Also, the fat harvested from the Lipo would be available for doing some Fat Grafting in your butt, in case you’d like a fuller rounder bottom.
I’d also recommend this to you, because it would be better when sculpting your body contour where we could reduce a little the fat deposits on your hips and give some volume to the areas above them. Anyways, in my opinion, these are the procedures that would better improve your appearance. Hope this clears out your doubts. If not, feel free to contact me. (Luis A. Fernandez Goico, MD, Dominican Republic Plastic Surgeon)
