Always best to be at for lowest weight prior to ANY surgery, especially a tummy tuck with liposuction. (Darryl J. Blinski, MD, Miami Plastic Surgeon)
Fast weight loss before surgery
Your body mass index (BMI) is already in a completely favorable range for a tummy tuck.
Three to five pounds will not make a difference to your surgeon.
I would rather see my patient maintain her normal diet this close to surgery. (Jourdan Gottlieb, MD, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)
3 to 5 lbs that you lose will not be substantial when performing the procedure in your specific case because I understand that you already have abdominal sagging to achieve a full tummy tuck combined with liposuction, aesthetically excellent results, and your own fat can be used to shape your buttocks, obtaining a better appearance and optimal body modeling that meets your needs. I am sure, you’re a very good candidate. (Eugenio Lapaix Vargas, MD, Dominican Republic Plastic Surgeon)
Closer to ideal weight before tummy tuck surgery
Definitely it is much better to be closer to your ideal weigh prior surgery because your skin will be pull down easier, the flap will be thinner and easier to make the stitching. Also helps to lose intra-abdominal volume making your muscle repair easier and also to do it tighter, to create a smaller waist. You are a wonderful candidate for Tummy Tuck, muscle repair and I would add some liposuction to lovehandles in order to Crete a more curvaceous body shape. (Laura Carmina Cardenas, MD, Mexico Plastic Surgeon)
