Most of the time after a twin pregnancy, there is “extreme” stretching of the abdominal and severe “rectus diastasis” (muscle separation) because of this.
The only way to “fix” is this with a full tummy tuck surgery. I cannot say absolutely without performing an exam on you, but from your photos, it appears that you have modest to severe rectus diastasis especially in the upper abdomen – which is typical.
It is also not uncommon to encounter small hernias in this area – especially after a twin pregnancy.
I routinely perform this procedure commonly, and I can tell you that any non-surgical modality (Liposonix or Cool Sculpt) will not give you the improvement that you desire. I think only a full tummy tuck surgery will do this. (James F. Boynton, MD, FACS, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
Restoring the Abdomen After Twin Pregnancy
I think your observation about the abdominal wall being “broken” is probably right. You seem to have a lot of muscle laxity that could only be repaired with a full tummy tuck surgery.
While you may have some internal abdominal fat, I do not see that much external fat that would be amenable to liposuction. The “spa” treatments may be appealing because of the minimal downtime, I cannot imagine them giving you any significant result. (John LoMonaco, MD, FACS)
Body Contouring & Mommy Makeover
Based on your photos, you would benefit from continued diet and exercise as well as a tummy tuck with liposuction. This procedure would tighten your muscles and remove excess skin and fat.
Cool sculp and liposonix will not address the structural issues and you will likely be dissapoiinted. (George Bitar, MD, Fairfax Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy tuck or Coolsculpting
Coolsculpting is a great non-invasive method to reduce localized areas of fat. But, for what you describe as a broken belly you are much better off with a tummy tuck. I perform both Tummy Tucks and CoolSculpting in San Antonio and I agree with the others here.
Seek out a board certified reputable plastic surgeon in your area and get a straight forward opinion. (Suresh Koneru, MD, San Antonio Plastic Surgeon)
When considering body contouring you should consult with 1 or more Board Certified Plastic Surgeons who have the background, skills and experience to offer the best treatments. A medical spa generally lacks the above and can offer only non-invasive treatments which often leave much to be desired. In your case it appears that you would most benefit from a tummy tuck. (George Lefkovits, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Although each of the procedures you list has their place, with lax skin after pregnancy, localized fat in the abdominal area, and possible muscle separation, there is no question that the tummy tuck is the best choice. (Richard Baxter, MD, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)
Definitively Full Tummy Tuck Surgery
You need to have a consultation with a Certified Plastic Surgeon, I sure he/she will explain all the benefits from a full tummy tuck surgery, specially in removing extra tissues (skin and fat) and Muscle Plication (make your abdominal wall muscles tighter. ).
You will feel happier with this surgical procedure. (Ricardo Vega, MD, Mexico Plastic Surgeon)
Full tummy tuck surgery best option
It appears from the photos that you are a good candidate to have a full tummy tuck surgery. Of course your medical history and desire to undergo surgery and recovery are important issues. In 2 to 3 hours of surgery you can really see a dramatic difference. A med spa does not do surgery but they want your money.
As stated before in other excellent posts see a board certified plastic surgeon in your area with a good reputation. (Gregory Lynam, MD, Richmond Plastic Surgeon)
