Is tummy tuck right for you?
I think you can benefit from abdominal contouring tummy tuck and modest liposuction. Whether you will be happy with the results is really only determined by you.
The other questions that you asked are best determined by physical examination from an in person consultation. (Earl Stephenson, Jr., MD, DDS, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
You are a good candidate for a tummy tuck but you still may not have completely flat stomach after the procedure. A tummy tuck will removed skin and fat but thickness of your abdominal wall will not be changed.
Loosing weight would give you the best results. (Adam Saad, MD, Atlantic City Plastic Surgeon)
You are a perfect candidate for an extended Tummy Tuck in order to remove the saggy skin on your abdomen and sides and eliminate the bad result as Is a dog ear. In my opinion you will need a nice tight muscle repair in order to create a small tapered waist and flat abdomen. Definitely liposuction to lower back will help to enhance the your whole body shape. Be encouraged. A great result achieves a low incision, tapered waist, curvy shape, flat abdomen, and feminine small belly button. (Laura Carmina Cardenas, MD, Mexico Plastic Surgeon)
Would I be happy with the outcome of an abdominoplasty w/plication and flank lipo?
A consultation in person is necessary to formulate a specific plan for you, but your problems and concerns are seen routinely in my practice. You appear to be a good candidate for an abdominoplasty and possibly some liposuction at your flanks. (Eric Desman, MD, Alexandria Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy Tuck Candidate
You appear to be a good tummy tuck candidate. With that being said, each patient is unique and has different goals and desires. Each patient has a unique body habitus as well. It is recommended that you get down to your goal weight before surgery. An examination will help ensure that you are safe and a good candidate, but from your pictures it appears that you will benefit from a tummy tuck. (Gaurav Bharti, MD, Johnson City Plastic Surgeon)
I want a flat stomach. Would I be happy with the outcome of an abdominoplasty w/plication and flank lipo?
It is difficult to give you specific advice without physical examination and a better communication of your personal goals. Having said that, most patients who have had pregnancies and/or significantly gain/loss benefit from full tummy tuck operation.
Most patients who undergo this procedure after pregnancies and/or weight gain/loss, benefit from re approximation of the abdominal wall muscles as well as from excision of the excess skin/adipose tissue. Liposuction surgery is often utilized as well. Generally speaking, the “ideal” patient for tummy tuck surgery is one who has completed pregnancies, is medically/psycho socially/emotionally/financially stable, has an excellent social support system surrounding him/her, does not smoke, is capable of arranging enough recovery time and who has reached a long-term stable weight.
Achieving your long-term stable weight prior to proceeding will improve the outcome of the procedure, increase the safety of the operation and decreased chances that additional surgery will be necessary subsequently. When the time is right, seek consultation with board-certified plastic surgeons. Ask to see lots of examples of their work and communicate your goals carefully. It will be important to achieve realistic expectations prior to proceeding; show your plastic surgeon what you mean when you refer to a “flat stomach” and determine whether or not your goals are realistic.
