Do I need a mini tummy tuck or full tummy tuck?
If the bothersome loose skin is only below the belly buttonm, a mini TT may suffice. Otherwise you would need the full TT to tighten upper abdominal skin, but it might be possible to modify that full TT with an umbilical float.
It would take an exam to know the answer to that. (Ronald V. DeMars, MD, Portland Plastic Surgeon)
Full or mini tummy tuck after BBL
It is difficult to evaluate which type of skin tightening procedure would be best for you without an examination. A board-certified plastic surgeon will perform a pinch test.
If there is a small amount of skin laxity he or she may consider a mini tummy tuck. If there is a great deal of laxity a full tummy tuck may serve you better. It’s really the physical examination that counts here. Because BBL involves removing fat from underneath the skin technically some patients do wind up with looser skin it is one of the pitfalls of liposuction surgery. (Adam Tattelbaum, MD, Washington DC Plastic Surgeon)
Although you have described loose skin, it is hard to tell from the photographs how loose it is. A mini-tummy tuck usually means removal of skin only below the umbilicus.
It may or may not involve tightening the lower abdominal muscles. Assuming it did not, the question to be answered is if your needs will be met by a lower, mini tummy tuck.
It does not appear from the photo that a full abdominoplasty could be done without leaving a vertical scar in the lower abdomen where the umbilicus was released.
An in person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon is needed. (Robert M. Lowen, MD, Mountain View Plastic Surgeon)From photos, I don’t see a lot of loose skin which would warrant either a full or mini tuck. An in person consultation with a plastic surgeon would be better able to determine your options. (Ronald J. Edelson, MD, San Diego Plastic Surgeon)
Your photos do not show anything obvious and would suggest you see your local surgeon for further advice and options. (Curtis Wong, MD, Redding Plastic Surgeon)
