Abdominoplasty aims to eliminate postpartum changes in the anterior abdominal wall. The main reasons for the abnormality of the abdominal form from the aesthetic norm are pregnancy with subsequent childbirth, as well as overweight.
During pregnancy, the abdominal wall is exposed to significant hyperextension and, in its way, pronounced stress. Muscles thinen and stretch, stretch and connect them connective tissue structures.

In mild cases, when muscle tone is preserved, but there is a slight excess of adipose tissue without forming a skin fold in the abdomen, removal of excess fat (lipoaspiration, liposuction) through a puncture of the skin at the depth of the navel is performed. No visible scarring, fast and consistent result make this method very attractive and popular. Recovery in this case is 2-3 weeks, physical activity is limited to 5-6 weeks.
The second variant of surgical correction of the abdomen is the plastic of the anterior abdominal wall (abdominoplasty). The operation is performed in cases of postpartum changes (striae, weak tone, wrinkled skin) or in the presence of a fat apron. The main tasks of a plastic surgeon are: strengthening of the muscular wall, narrowing of the umbilical ring, removal of excess skin and adipose tissue.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia. Postoperative cosmetic horizontal scar is in a fold over the pubis, it easily disappears under the underwear, after 6-12 months it becomes hardly noticeable. The recovery period is 4-6 weeks.
In the department of plastic, aesthetic surgery the patient is 2-3 days, then the treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis. Restriction of physical activity is 1.5-2 months.
