That being said, it could represent anything from an underlying infection to simple skin reaction or insect bite. At five days post op you are definitely still experiencing significant swelling. This swelling will be noticeable for 6 to 8 weeks after surgery and even then you skin will continue to contract for up to 12 months prior to you final result. Take you time and be patient, you body needs time to heal and your final results will settle and look far more natural than in the immediate post operative period.
