Breast augmentation to uneven breasts?
Breast Asymmetry for Breast Augmentation
Feb 13, 2016
This is a hard question to answer, especially without pictures.  If you have glandular or skin asymmetry where either the gland or skin are different from side to side, then you will likely continue to have these asymmetries going forward.  What implants can do is restore fullness to both sides and make them look better, especially if you really want "bigger".  On the other hand, if you are someone who worries about how they will look after surgery, and how even or uneven they may be, you...
Do I have Tuberous Breasts?
Tuberous breasts
Oct 18, 2015
You are not a tuberous Breast patient. Your left breast is loose, ptotic, or falling and would need a lift. If you accept a lift at the same time as your augment, you will have a satisfactory result and you will be happy. I find that the patients who most try to avoid the mastopexy or breast lift are the least happy with their augmentation result. Good luck and make sure you pick someone with experience with this surgery.
Which would you recommend; Tummy tuck vs lower body lift?
Extended Tummy Tuck versus a Lower Body Lift
Jul 30, 2015
I think your case is ideal for body contouring. I actually prefer to do the TT first in en extended fashion, as many patients do not need as much done on the back side as they might originally think. If your surgeon talks to you about taking the TT as far around the front as possible you will likely get the contour improvement after one surgery. You would also need liposuction of the flanks or sides. Then, if you decide to go after excess tissue removal or tightening...
Implants, no lift ?
Implants without lift
Jul 6, 2015
In your particular case you will need a lift to avoid long term problems. I find that patients make the mistake of not wanting a lift to avoid scars and then they end up with unsatisfactory breast enhancement. Your leftt side is lower than the right and this is challenging for your plastic surgeon. Please seek and find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and look for someone who feels comfortable with your amount of asymmetry. Good luck in your search.
I'm 4 days post tummy tuck and tightening of muscles. What are the limitations of what I'm allowed
muscle tightening and recovery
Jul 6, 2015
I like when I have patients like you. The muscle tightening procedure for abdominaplasty is the hardest for the patients' recovery. You may have had a pain pump or a nerve block to improve your postoperative pain. This is generally a good idea. In terms of avoiding complications, I would strongly advise that you stick to your MD's recommendations. I generally recommend you stay hunched over "all the time" while out of bed to avoid problematic healing and scar...
My right breast has become saggy, the left one is perfect and how I hoped they would be! Can this b
asymmetry after surgery
Jul 6, 2015
Your pictures are hard to appreciate. You are too close to the camera and sometimes this can cause problems and not represent the real result. From the little I can see, your right side looks smaller then the left. This may not be real, or may be because you are still swollen on the left. The longer you wait the more symmetry you will develop. I ask patients to wait at least 6 weeks, but sometimes even longer (up to 3 months) to appreciate the size and symmetry...
How can I improve my bulging lower eyelids?
Lower eyelid bulge
Jul 6, 2015
Your picture is on the small side, but from what I can see you have hypertrophy of the orbicularis oculi muscle of your lower lids. This is a normal variant and an issue patients find concerning from time to time. I do not think this warrants surgery or any intervention. In order to soften this appearance some MD's have tried neurotoxin treatment. This may work, but is not indicated by the FDA, and may leave you with too much weakness of the lower lid closure muscle....
Liposuction or maybe Coolsculpting?
Liposuction or Coolsculpting
May 20, 2015
Mark,Liposuction, especially Tumescent Liposuction, is a tried and true technique to improve contour from excess or unwanted fat. Although your pictures are not optimal, they do suggest that you would be a candidate for liposuction. Coolsculpting is indicated for simple noninvasive areas of desired fat removal, and the results cannot compare to liposuction. I am surprised that patients so easily choose the noninvasive technique as it is unable to offer them the improvement...
Open wound 4 weeks post. What can be done to speed up healing? Will my tummy smooth out? What kind
Complications of Abdominoplasty
May 20, 2015
This is a tough problem to deal with. It is not uncommon for patients to get a seroma after abdominoplasty. A seroma is a fluid collection from the surgery and your body trying to heal everything. In most cases you need to do dressing changes or wound care as directed by your Plastic Surgeon. Just keep remembering that with time this will be better. In most cases this will take time, and should close over in about 3-6 weeks. After everything is healed and...
Is there a way to manage 15 year old liposuction skin puckering on/around belly button?
Liposuction Contour Deformity
May 20, 2015
Most patients with this problem have developed some form of loose skin from the aging process. This is natural. If it is bothering you, consider seeing your plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck. You will be trading a hidden scar for the excess skin. If your case is minor enough your surgeon may not offer you this option, and there may be other options to improve the contour that could involve some extra liposuction or even fat grafting into the areas of tissue deficiency....

Breast Implant Selection
Feb 7, 2015
Without pictures it is difficult to make a judgement about implant selection. It depends on so many factors including your pinch thickness, skin thickness, laxity of your current envelope, deflation, distance for your nipple to your fold, overall desire for what you realistically want to look like. In general, your surgeon should take this into consideration and tell you what he feels comfortable offering you. I would warn you against going too large as the larger implants...
Plastic Surgery Financing - What Are Some Reputable Lenders?
Financing Plastic Surgery
Feb 7, 2015
Financing for plastic surgery can be accomplished with many lenders and banks. We use Care Credit in my practice. They have options for interest free payments which is very attractive for our clients. We also accept most major credit cards for payment.
Mommy Makeover Recovery Time
Mommy Makeover
Feb 7, 2015
Mommy Makeover is a popular term for women who want to try to regain some of the youthfulness of their bodies after childbearing. Childbearing has a tendency to cause sagging of the breasts and looseness or extra skin of the belly. The answer for everyone is different. Some women need enhancement of their breast with implants while others need reduction of their breasts with a lift. Some women need extended tummy tucks while others need a little tuck or a little lipo...
375cc or 400cc Implants for Breast Augmentation?
Choice of breast implant
Feb 7, 2015
This is a tough question to answer without consulting with you. There are many things to discuss. First, you are taller than average, and taller women need larger implants to achieve the same breast size. A C cup on a woman 5'0" tall is not the same as a woman 5' 7" tall. The difference is easily 100cc. Second, all breasts are not created equal and some have more laxity or looseness in the envelope which requires a larger implant. If you are young and...
How Do You Massage Breasts After Breast Augmentation?
Breast massage after surgery
Feb 7, 2015
I tell patients that have smooth round implants to move their implants up, down, to the middle and to the sides at least three times a day starting postoperative day 2-3. This makes sure that the pocket that was created during surgery is still as open and supple as it was the day it was created. This helps with implant position and appearance and leads to a more natural result. I often find that the girls who are not massaging, see a big difference in the office when we...
