Does tummy tuck worth it?
In agreement with other responders, anything besides abdominoplasty with musculofascial plication will not produce the quality of result you likely desire.
You have post-pregnancy abdominal wall relaxation, extra skin, and fat distributed over the entire abdominal wall.
Abdominoplasty is the only procedure that will treat all of these issues. (Steve Laverson, MD, San Diego Plastic Surgeon)
Few individuals are good candidates for a “mini” tummy tuck.
The photo demonstrates a patient who is definitely not a candidate for a mini-abdominoplasty.
The entire abdomen from the sternum to the pubis needs restoration and a large amount of skin an fat needs removal. A mini only addresses the area between the umbilicus and pubis. (Vincent N. Zubowicz, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
Best Option for Abdominal Surgery?
I would not suggest liposuction or a mini tummy tuck operation for you. I would suggest a full tummy tuck operation. I would also suggest, for the best results, that you have the muscle plication done at the time of the tummy tuck operation. Schedule the procedure such that you have enough recovery time. Do not short change yourself with the operation you decide to proceed with. (Tom J. Pousti, MD, FACS, San Diego Plastic Surgeon)
Lipo or Mini Tummy Tuck?
Full tummy is what will give you the result that you want. Liposuction will not tighten this much loose skin. A mini-tummy tuck will either give only a partial correction or will result in imbalance between the upper and lower abdomen.
Not having a muscle repair will make what should be an excellent outcome into something only mildly improved. It isn’t what you want to hear. but doing less than a full tummy tuck will probably leave your unhappy with your outcome. You seem ready for an in person consultation.
RealSelf has listings of surgeons in your area. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (plasticsurgery dot org) also has listings for your area, and a listing in the ASPS website assures you that your surgeon is not only board certified, but also is a member in good standing of the major plastic surgery organization in the U. S.
With an in person evaluation you may find that some of your preconceived notions about recovery are exaggerated. (Jourdan Gottlieb, MD, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)
A full tummy tuck would benefit you the best. Liposuction will not give you a flat tummy at all. A full tummy tuck would give you the best results. (Stuart B. Kincaid, MD, FACS, San Diego Plastic Surgeon)
