Liposuction won’t help with excess skin.
Liposuction can be a great option for men and women who have already reached a healthy target weight, but notice one or two stubborn problem spots like the inner thighs or the love handles.
While lipo can be a very effective body contouring tool, it can’t help with loose skin or separated abdominal muscles that’s what a tummytuck is for. Some surgeons will combine the two procedures, or include liposuction in the areas around the tummy to ensure a smooth transition following abdominoplasty.
You’ll see the best results if you wait until you’ve reached your weight loss goals before scheduling any type of body contouring procedures. (David L. Kaufman, MD, Folsom)
Can I get good results with a tt or would I also need lipo to obtain a smaller waist?
You will need an abdominoplasty and possibly a belt lipectomy to make your waist smaller. Liposuction can be done at the same time to refine you contour reduction. Please see an experienced board certified Plastic Surgeon for consultation. (Thomas Guillot, MD, Baton Rouge Plastic Surgeon)
Full or extended tummytuck plus liposuction
Losing weight could be a very hard task nowadays! For what I see from your images, I would definetely suggest that you lose more weight in order to obtain a more dramatic change in your outcome and also to avoid any kind of risks. I think that you will need an extended tummytuck plus liposuction in order to achieve a more dramatic outcome. It would be better if you have a face to face consultation so you can go throughly all the details. Take care and good luck in your PS journey! (Jaime Campos Leon, MD, Mexico Plastic Surgeon)
TummyTuck or Liposuction
Based on your photos, you are an excellent candidate for TummyTuck surgery. You will be wasting your money with liposuction. Consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for an evaluation, and to discuss your options and expectations. (Robert E. Zaworski, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
A tummytuck can give you a great improvement, lipo can add a little sculpting to that
A tummytuck can give you a great improvement, lipo can add a little sculpting to that. Your main problem is the excess abdomen skin, and fold that goes around your love handles. A tummytuck with a little lipo to help shape the waist would be ideal. (Martin Jugenburg, MD, Toronto)
