Alternative to Tummy Tucks
To give you the look you want holding your abdomen up and in there is only mone surgery that will work.
I applaud you for your weight loss but you don’t say what weight you started at prior to pregnancy.
If you are still losing weight then postpone surgery until you feel you have plateaued. Your result will be much better if you are closer to your ideal weight.
Keep up the good work and look forward to your tummy tuck. (Steven Schuster, MD, Boca Raton Plastic Surgeon)
A tummy tuck would remove the excess skin and fat that is between your belly button and your pubic bone.
Your overall result will be much better if you also had liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, and waist. This can be done at the same time as your tummy tuck. (Remus Repta, MD, Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon)
No real alternatives to tummy tuck
After pregnancy and/or weight loss, the skin will have been stretched significantly and exercise usually does not improve skin tone. A tummy tuck removes the extra skin and localized fat.
Liposuction will also remove localized fat deposits tha don’t respond to diet and exercise but does not tighten skin very much even with laser lipo. For best results and lowest risk of complications you should be close to ideal body weight, at least a BMI (body mass index) of less than 30. (Richard Baxter, MD, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)
As long as you are finished having babies, a tummy tuck performed by an experienced surgeon certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery is your best bet. (Armando Soto, MD, FACS, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)
You should be proud of yourself for accomplishing the goals that you have accomplished thus far! Please keep up the good work! You look like you would be a great candidate for an abdominoplasty but you would likely benefit from additional weight loss prior to having this procedure.
If you attempt to lose about 20 more pounds you would really benefit. (John Hensel, MD, Charleston Plastic Surgeon)
You will be a great candidate for a tummy tuck. The more weight you lose first the more skin will be removed and the flatter you tummy will be. If you lose a significant amount of weight after the procedure you may have some skin laxity and additional procedures may be needed. Good luck and please see a board certified plastic surgeon for consultation. (Gregory Lynam, MD, Richmond Plastic Surgeon)
I don’t think anything else will help get rid of the hanging skin and fat. You should get a nice result. (George J. Beraka, MD (retired), Manhattan Plastic Surgeon)
