From the photos it appears that you are a good candidate from a full or extended tummy tuck. The oft quoted cutoff threshold for BMI is 30, and you are below that. The threshold is only a guideline. From the looks of the attached photos, this is a good time to be considering your surgery, and you should anticipate a nice outcome.

Your intraabdominal contents do not look to limit your outcome. The only exception I would make is if you have lost a lot of weight and anticipate losing 40 or more additional pounds, and it certainly doesn’t appear that you have that much to spare. You seem to be an excellent candidate. If your consultant is discouraging, seek another consultation. (Jourdan Gottlieb, MD, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)

Based on the photos that you have provided, you would likely benefit from a tummy tuck, and I don’t think your BMI will preclude you from pursuing one. You appear to have an abundance of excess abdominal skin, and a tummy tuck will help to improve this.

Definitely meet with a board certified plastic surgeon to find out more! (Joshua Cooper, MD, FACS, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)
