Breast lift and tummy tuck
Mommy makeover is a procedure commonly performed safely in health women. I am not sure if you had consultation with a board certified surgeon to discuss your options.
Usually the tummy tuck is performed first even in a one stage operation. I also would recommend against having an operation performed outside of the country as complications are to difficult to deal with if your surgeon is not here. (N. Bill Aydin, MD, Paramus Plastic Surgeon)
Breast surgery combined with tummy surgery
I very frequently perform breast lifts with and without implants with a tummy tuck. This procedure is usually known as a Mommy Makeover.
Combining the surgeries saves money and recovery time. If you do more than one procedure, the fees are usually discounted! Also, I would HIGHLY recommend staying in the country for surgery. If you have any problems afterward, it could get very expensive trying to find someone who will take care of you postoperatively. Therefore, you might want to consider getting both procedures done together right here in Baltimore or D.C. (Jeffrey E. Schreiber, MD, FACS, Baltimore Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy Tuck and Breast lift at Different Times
Unless you have an extremely complicated situation I would advise that you consider having both procedures together. The benefits of reducing the amount of anesthesia exposure and having only one recovery episode outweigh the downsides. Otherwise if you must have separate procedures I would recommend that you do the one that bothers you most first. (Mark Deutsch, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
Surgeries combinations
This two surgeries are combine all the time, it is true that its a little bit more safe to do separate surgeries, but his combination wont increase a lot of risks when performed by a experienced team of Plastic Surgeons. If you really want to get the surgeries on two times, there wont be an specific order that will get you a better result, just go for the one that you want more first.
About having your surgery performed by two different Plastic Surgeons and country, why doing this? i would definitely recommend you to find a board certified plastic surgeon, in or out of your country who performs both of the surgeries. Also remember, even if you are performing the surgeries in two times and with two different surgeons, you will have to wait at least 3 month between surgeries. (Luis Redondo, MD, Dominican Republic Plastic Surgeon)
Should I get a tummy tuck before I get a breast lift with implants?
Typically, if a patient is healthy and / or medically cleared – can have a combination surgeries at the same time. We do this all the time. My recommendation is- to seek an Experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon within the country. (Thomas Trevisani, Sr., MD, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)
Order of surgeries
I would have to ask why you want to have one of the procedures overseas as I constantly caution patients against medical tourism. My personal preference is for tummy tuck first as I believe you will have a better idea of proportion and implant size once your abdomen is in shape. Depending on how much work is involved in each of the respective surgeries and surgical speed, it may be better to separate them with respect to anesthesia time and postop issues. (Robert L. Kraft, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy tuck before or after breast surgery
This makes no sense to me. You are in a major city with access to excellent plastic surgeons and hospitals. If you are saving money by going abroad, please don’t. Going abroad gives you surgery without after-care which is essential for both your planned operations. If you do go abroad, set aside several thousand dollars more – to pay plastic surgeons in DC to care for you on your return. Such care is not free.
That said, if you are going to have two operations, have the tummy tuck and breast lift first. Then have the implants. Although implants are often done with lifts, there is a higher risk of infection when they are combined. So if two operations are done, lower your risk by separating the breast operations. (Elizabeth Morgan, MD, PhD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
