What are my options for products that encourage growth at the hairline?
you may need a consultation
Aug 28, 2023
There are a few reasons for hair loss in the hairline. The most common one is pattern hair loss (female or male pattern hair loss). In this case, minoxidil may be a good place to start. Some oils do have some efficacy (rosemary and pumpkin being the most studied and advertised), but there are not many comparative studies demonstrating how effective they are. In fact, there was one study comparing rosemary oil with 2% minoxidil that showed that they work the same. However, in real life we use...
Why isn’t Botox or Dysport working for me?
numerous reasons for unsatisfactory result
Aug 28, 2023
The amount of Botox needed to achieve the desired results varies from person to person. Some people may need more units than others. In some patients of mine I have used over 50U for glabella area only. Permanent wrinkles are not usually affected by Botox. In this case, you may only see some improvement, but not the desired result. It is recommended to start doing Botox earlier to prevent permanent wrinkles from forming. With regular Botox treatments, the wrinkles will improve over time. The...
If I have Botox resistance will I still see results from dermal filler?
It happens!
Aug 28, 2023
It is true that muscles can develop resistance to certain treatments when used over a long period of time. However, fillers work differently and do not necessarily mean that you will metabolize them quickly. There are different fillers with different durations. There are also many other methods of rejuvenation, such as lasers and other devices. Ultrasound technology offers lift (Sofwave or Ultherapy), so you have plenty of options. Best, Dr. K
Can a Nefertiti Lift help my uneven jawline?
Botox neck lift
Aug 21, 2023
Botox to the neck can help relax muscles and may definitely help to some degree. Trapezius Botox may also be helpful. However, you need a thorough in-person evaluation because the asymmetry may be caused by a combination of factors. Realistic expectations are essential -- Botox neck lift provides mild improvement. Let us know if we can be of any help.
Worse under eye area after filler. Will only hyaluronidase resolve this?
A week is a very short time!
Aug 21, 2023
Undereye filler can cause some swelling. One week is too short a time after the procedure to judge the results. Swelling under the eyes can unfortunately persist for up to a month or longer in some cases. I would definitely wait for 1-2 weeks and then consider re-evaluating. It may definitely need to be dissolved. The undereye area is one of the most delicate areas. Let us know if we can be if any help. Dr. Kazlouskaya, MD/PhD.
Do I have dry skin and how to I get rid of the two spots circled in blue?
Skin care likely will not help
Aug 21, 2023
The areas you circled are atrophic scars. Unfortunately, skincare will not completely eliminate them. Creams with retinoids (specifically tazarotene) have some data to suggest they can improve the appearance of scars, but I would not rely on them too much. There is a range of cosmetic options available for improving atrophic scars, and they are most effective when used in combination (TCA cross peel, microneedling, and lasers). Please let us know if we can be of assistance.
Hair shedding for the past 6 months - is this FPHL or due to stress?
sometimes time is the best answer
Aug 14, 2023
Upon analyzing your trichoscopy images, it's evident that there are numerous normal hair shafts, accompanied by a scattering of thinner hair shafts. Remarkably, this observation holds true for both AGA and telogen effluvium. In such cases, the passage of time can become an invaluable factor to identify a correct diagnosis.
Understanding your family's hair loss history can prove light on whether a hereditary component is at play. Moreover, a comprehensive blood work analysis can eliminate the...
