How Can I Fix my Uneven Breasts and Areolas?
Uneven Breasts and Areolas
Feb 12, 2015
It is difficult to give you advice by viewing your single
image, but the most striking feature that I notice is the asymmetric (uneven)
appearance of your areola (dark area around nipple). I would first consider
seeking consultation with someone experienced in areolar tattooing for breast
cancer reconstruction. Your image gives me the impression that you do not have any
excess in body fat, but if this is not the case, you may also consider fat
grafting to your right breast which might help…
Uncertain about Rhinoplasty and needing opinions. Is it worth it?
Uncertain About Rhinoplasty
May 14, 2014
Dear Stella,

As others before me have advised, only you can
determine whether making the changes in the appearance of your nose is “worth
it”. The changes that you indicated in your diagram are “fixable”. Recovery
time is a concept that is difficult to define. In general there will be a two-to
three-week time that discoloration can be expected. Swelling is greatest in a
six-week to six-month range, with the greatest amount of swelling resolving in
the first six weeks. I would advise…

Would it be advisable to source a plastic surgeon whos technique incorporates grafting and implan
Regarding Grafting and Implants for Rhinoplasty
May 14, 2014
Dear Jodie,

From your limited image (only lateral view), I don’t
think you will need grafting and (in my opinion) certainly not an implant to
achieve “tip refinement and lift”. A
graft may be beneficial, but that wouldn’t be the focus of my choice of a
rhinoplastic surgeon. I believe you should consult with a board certified
plastic surgeon who has significant experience with nasal surgery. Websites or “word of mouth” can help you in
locating such a surgeon. In your consult it…

Is this a dog ear or fat ?
Dog Ear or Fat?
Apr 8, 2014
Dear
Amy,It
is natural to worry during the early stages of “recovery” from a
tummy tuck. I tell my patients that they should expect an 18-24 month period
following the surgery before final results are seen. Your photos look as if you
are still in this “scar maturation phase”. Trying to classify the
area you are concerned about (dog ear vs fat) does nothing to resolve your
concern but certainly adds to your anxiety. I
agree with your doctor that the best plan is to allow further healing to…
Can I do nose surgery at age 16?
Can I Do Nose Surgery at 16?
Apr 8, 2014
Dear
nany97,If
I understand your question correctly you are asking: is it safe to have surgery
to reduce the size of your nose at 16 years of age? My simple answer is yes. Assuming
you are otherwise healthy and don’t have any unusual problems (such as being
treated with growth hormone for skeletal delay) it is probably safe to begin
discussing surgery. Since
you are legally not yet able to sign an informed consent, your process should
start by speaking with your parents about your concern….

3 Weeks Recovery
Apr 8, 2014
Dear CoffeeAddict,I think you are asking two separate questions, and I will
address them individually. I do believe that it is possible you may enjoy your
vacation 3 weeks following your contemplated procedure. But, it is also possible that you will wish you didn’t limit
your vacation by not being able to lift your suitcase, or possibly having a
wound healing problem that requires dressings under your “tropical attire”. Even
worse, you may have to cancel your trip because of unexpected…
Will an umbilicoplasty fix my belly-button?
Will an umbilicoplasty fix my belly button?
Feb 12, 2014
Dear. MyRealSelf2014,In my opinion, the best
treatment for you to restore your “innie” would be to correct the problem that
caused it. With your pregnancies your abdominal muscles (rectus abdominus) were
pushed apart. This results in your umbilicus protruding. There may (or may not)
be a hernia. This is important to determine. Because umbilical hernia’s carry
the potential risk of intestinal damage, most insurance companies will cover
the cost of umbilical hernia repair. By making a…
Phenol peel or laser resurfacing for sagging lower eyelids?
Phenol Peel or laser resurfacing for sagging lower eyelids…
Feb 12, 2014
The operative word in your question is efficient. Most definitions of
efficient indicate achieving desired result quickly. I would have concern that
even if the laser or peel caused the desired result quickly. Your recovery
would be prolonged with red colored skin for several weeks. Dr Wong’s suggestion
of the pinch blepharoplasty would also be my choice to correct you skinfolds in
the most efficient manner. Good luckMichael Sadove, MD
I had Neck iposuction 6 days ago and I still see a double chin. Is it just swelling?
I had Neck Liposuction 6 days ago…
Feb 12, 2014
Dear
Cormattlove,As
you indicated, you are only 6 days following your procedure. You have a great
outcome to date, even if additional improvement is not achieved. I do believe
you will see even further improvement in the weeks and months ahead. Continue
to discuss your concerns with your surgeon.Liposuction
in the submental area reduces the fat that is just under the skin. You may
have additional fat in an area that we refer to as “subplatysmal
fat”. This is not addressed with liposuction…
Are there non-surgical options for a devited septum?
Re: Non-Surgiecal Options for Deviated Septum
Feb 4, 2014
Paul,Without examining your nose or viewing your photos it isn’t
possible to advise you about a non-surgical treatment. If the deviation is
minimal, you may get some improvement with nasal steroids. So the answer to “is
it possible” is at best a maybe. The more reliable approach would be a surgical procedure to
straighten your septum. This alone may not be enough, because at times, the
nasal bones and turbinates of your nose may also need to be adjusted. You
should seek out a board…
Am I a good candidate for a full tummy tuck at this weight and size?
RE: Am I a good candidate for a full tummy tuck at this weight and size?
Jan 29, 2014
Dear bec0921,I believe you would get a
“good result” from a “full tummy tuck”, but a successful plastic surgery
experience is very dependent on realistic expectations. What you need to
realize is that you are a “good” candidate for surgery but not “ideal”. You
would be better served to lose the additional weight prior to surgery (if you
believe that you will be able to maintain this weight after the procedure).
Another reality is that you are more of a “post bariatric…
Will Less Than 200cc Be Too Small?
Will Less Than 200cc Be Too Small?
May 21, 2013
At 5’1″ and 95lbs, barely 32A, with a thin frame it is possible that you would be happy with a 200 cc implant. The optimal solution would be to determine the dimensions of the implant to be used and mark that out on your breast. Projection of the implant will vary depending on what implant projection is selected (high, moderate, etc.). Assuming the implants are going to be placed under the chest wall muscle, there will be a decrease in some of the projection that you see when trying the…
I Tend to Bruise Easily, How Will This Effect my Augmentation and Healing After?
I Tend To Bruise Easily, How Will This Effect My Augmentation and Healing?
Apr 5, 2013
Dear Grace,

Most women have minimal bruising with breast augmentation, but if you are concerned that you may have a problem it is best to be evaluated prior to surgery. Your family MD is a good place to start, but occasionally a specialist’s evaluation (hematologist) may be valuable. A “bleeding time” test could be considered. It is extremely unlikely but possible that some disease (liver, Leukemia, Lupus) or undiagnosed clotting disorder (Von Willebrand’s) could be causing the…

Can I Do Squats a Week After Surgery?
Can I Do Squats A Week After Surgery?
Jan 23, 2013
General exercise is typically ok, but restricting any lifting and reaching activities. I usually have my patients wear their surgical bra for two weeks or more, depending on their individual situation. Underwire bras can typically be worn a month or more after surgery — again depending on your individual situation.

Thank you,

Dr. A. Michael Sadove
