After attending Duke University for his undergraduate degree, Dr. Liszka received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, where he became chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and became the chief resident in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Liszka then headed to the University of South Carolina, where he became an educator of medical students and surgical residents. He moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1996 to start his private practice, Ballantyne Plastic Surgery.

Deciding which type of breast lift to have depends on breast measurements and shape, how much of a lift you desire, and what types of scars you are willing to accept. As my colleagues who have already answered mentioned, all breast lift options are not interchangeable. When you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon, ask them to explain why they recommend a particular lift. Sometimes less of an incision is not always better because you may not get the look you are desiring.

It is very difficult to evaluate your results without first seeing a preoperative photo and physical exam. In my experience, massive weight loss patients have poor elastic skin properties and the skin tends to stretch more than those patients who undergo a breast lift without such significant weight loss. You should discuss your results with your surgeon and voice your concerns.

In my practice, women choose silicone over saline implants when they want the breast to feel more natural and they are concerned with visible saline implant rippling. Based on review of your photos, it appears you would have enough tissue that visible rippling would be unlikely. The more natural breast and fatty tissue you have, the less you will feel the implant. Ultimately, an examination in person would be necessary to confirm this opinion, but I do believe saline implants are an option...

Typically, I have patients out of work one week if they have a relatively sedentary job or two weeks with a more active job following a breast lift. Based on your photograph, I believe a round or shaped implant would give you excellent upper pole fullness. Measurements and the relationship of the nipple to your inframammary fold will determine the need for a breast lift. The photos you have submitted suggest you have abdominal wall weakness that extends above your umbilicus. A mini tummy tuck will not adequately address your concerns and may actually make your tummy look worse. Your hernia could be repaired at the same time as the tummy tuck. When I look at your pictures, it seems to me you have lost some of the benefits of your abdominal wall repair especially above the umbilicus. There may be no muscle separation, but there could be some stretching of the abdominal wall fascia. To improve your result, you would most likely require another operation to tighten the abdominal wall and maybe address any skin or fatty excess as well.
