Breakouts resembling pimples can happen after laser, potentially from the heat of the laser combined with any occlusive topicals applied to the area. The thing here is that, if you have a single tender lesion, it could be a boil or an abscess - which might need to be opened and drained. I would ask your treating physician to take a look.
