Is liposuction possible on the face?
Liposuction of the face!
Nov 17, 2023
Can you do it?? Sure!! Should you do it??? Rarely if ever!!
One of the changes in the face that shows age is a loss of the natural fill of the face. As the face gets thinner, it looks older! Decades ago, I did some lipo of the face. It was THE WRONG thing to do.
Your fuller face is a sign of youth!!! Embrace it!!!! Love your fuller face!!! A thinner face is NOT a sign of beauty!!
What is see in your pic is youthful and beautiful!! I wouldn’t do a thing!! Don’t let the media with…
Can a surgeon please explain the facility fee to me?
Facility fees
Nov 17, 2023
I do not own the facility where I do my surgery. Therefore, when patients come to me, there is a fee for my services, a fee for any implants, girdles, etc that might be needed, and a fee for the facility. They provide the operating room, all the equipment, the pre-op and post-op nurses, all the people who are helping in the operating room, the scrub tech, the nurse in the room. The dressings applied to the patient. Sometimes, that fee is larger than the doctor’s fee. The facility is a…
Breast augmentation results are uneven – is it fair to be disappointed?
Disappointed
Nov 11, 2023
Of course it’s fair to be disappointed!! To also be fair, part of it is your anatomy. Your left breast was higher, and the fold underneath the left is higher before surgery. And your right nipple appears lower than the left. That makes your surgery more difficult. It is difficult to move an inframammary fold higher or lower. I would not be surprised, as your surgeon, to anticipate doing a revision after implants have settled.
I would go back, after 6 months and consider raising your right i…
Can I get liposuction and go back to work within a week working as a flight attendant?
Work after Liposuction
Nov 4, 2023
Every surgeon will have a different answer for this. But the facts are that the highest risk of bleeding occurs at 10 – 14 days after surgery. That is the time that blood clots, that formed in the little blood vessels injured during surgery, will liquify and come off. In my practice I have seen a 6-Fold increase in bleeding between days 10 — 14 than all other times combined. During liposuction, the surgeon cannot cauterize or stop the vessels from bleeding inside. They have to clot…
Is it possible that my implants have dropped below or fallen out of the pocket?
Implants dropped
Oct 28, 2023
I’m sorry but I cannot tell from your photos. Implants obviously can fall out of position, either to the side or bottom. And smooth implants will move out of position more than textured implants. I would encourage you to see your physician, or a good board-certified plastic surgeon to be evaluated.
Good luck
Is there a minimum size limit for mildly sagging breast? Ideally want ~130cc low profile
Implants with slightly sagging breasts
Oct 21, 2023
My best advice is to find a plastic surgeon you trust. Look at before and after photos. Every surgeon I know does them differently. Personally, I put my implants under the muscle, especially in my athletic patients. I recently did implants on a woman ranked in the top 10 power-lifters. She specifically wanted them below the muscle so they would look better. You do not need to be lifted. And I don’t understand saying you are limited to 180 cc,.
I find placing implants placed above…
Why do my breast implants hurt when bending over? I’m a year from surgery
Painful Breasts
Oct 11, 2023
Your breast implants do look a little low. Your implants will have a layer of scar that forms around them. This scar can attach to the lining around your ribs. When your breast implants are low, or when you bend over, this is putting more tension on those scars, and pulling on those ribs. That can HURT! It is NOT a health risk. It is a nuisance. But it could be early signs of scar contracture.
I would recommend you check in with your surgeon and let him / her see if you have early…
Tummy tuck vertical incision to remove old belly button?
Vertical Scar in Abdominoplasty
Sep 24, 2023
I tend to make my horizontal tummy tuck scars quite low. Many of my patients prefer that scar very low, even down onto the pubis. Many times, if not the majority of times, that then requires a short vertical scar in the mid-abdomen. I have never had a patient complain of that scar. In many patients, and I think you too, it is a choice of having a relatively high horizontal scar, which is a long scar or a short vertical scar which is rarely even an issue. I place this scar in lots of my…
Back or arm lipo? Which area should I do first?
Back or Arms first
Aug 14, 2023
I don’t think it makes any difference at all which you do first. I usually recommend to my patients to do that part that bothers you most. It may make the other part not as concerning to you! Your choice!
What can I do to minimize the appearance of the line above my upper lip?
Lip Crease
Aug 1, 2023
I think a simple solution would be to put a long-lasting filler in the crease itself! I see this on occasion. It doesn’t require anything high tech. And your lips look nice, by the way!
Nipples are not level with each other 6 months post-op, would a breast band help?
Would a Breast Band help?
Jul 31, 2023
As I look at your photo, and if I disregard the nipples, the implants look in the exact same position. I would guess that the nipple on the left is naturally lower. Lowering the implant on the left will make the nipple look higher, but at the cost of losing the symmetry you have in the upper breast and cleavage area. A symmetric cleavage is far more important than nipple asymmetry.
I would check with your surgeon, and I would look at your before photos and see if that nipple was lower to…
I hate my Botox results. What can I do to quickly help wear it off?
Botox and Speeding recovery
Jul 27, 2023
Botox works by permanently disconnecting the nerve from the muscle. Botox does its thing, then vanishes. Botox does not stay around. There is no antidote. Once the nerve is disconnected, new nerve roots re-grow and re-attach to the muscle, renewing the muscle action. Much like cutting off a plant root, and new roots grow to replace it.
I know of no supplements that help this, although there are probably some. I would recommend gentle massage, frequently, and warmth would speed up the…
Do I need a Full Tummy Tuck or Umbilical Float Tummy Tuck – or nothing?
What do I need?
Jul 21, 2023
WOW! How do you decide with every possible option mentioned by good plastic surgeons??? Every surgeon would probably handle your case differently. Personally, I would not do a full tummy tuck. That will leave a scar around your belly button and possibly a short vertical scar in the lower midline. I think it depends upon how much fat you have in the abdomen. That would require an in-person consultation. If you have much fat, then liposuction would be helpful, either alone or with a mini…
Textured silicone implant vs smooth is there a much higher risk of bacterial infections with texture
Infections with Textured implants
Jul 20, 2023
I have been using textured implants 99% of the time in my 31 years of practice. And I continue to use them today. If a doctor uses good techniques, I have seen NO implant infections in 31 years, other than a minor stitch infection in the wound. I use good sterile technique, a Keller funnel to insert the implant, and betadine irrigation of the implant and the pocket. Textured tend to stay in position better and in every study done, form similar or sometimes dramatically less scarring…
Am I a candidate for a Tummy tuck, liposuction, or both?
Lipo or Tummy Tuck
Jul 14, 2023
Different docs will answer this in different ways. You don’t have that much fat. The problem is the loose skin in the upper abdomen. The most effective way to tighten that up is with a full abdominoplasty. But that would leave you with a scar around your umbilicus, and possibly a short vertical scar in the lower abdomen, as well as a scar across the lowest part of the abdomen. I would personally do a mini-abdominoplasty with floating of the umbilicus, with lipo at the same time. That…
