What can I do to fill in a doughnut shaped scar on my cheek?
Filling a scar
Mar 3, 2021
Depending on the depth of the scar subcision followed by either your own fat or a commercially produced filler should help.
What all would I need?
Auigment, no lift
May 28, 2019
Looking at your preop photos and the size you want to be I cannot imagine you would need a lift.  My only concern is that I don’t believe 650+cc will fit your skin envelope.  I would meet with a plastic surgeon or two with experience and discuss your wants with them.  Try to keep an open mind and put in the size implants that are appropriate for your body.  Good Luck!
Brachioplasty for patient that did not have massive weight loss?
Brachioplasty
Jan 3, 2018
To know if there are doctors who can help you’ll have to check around and be examined by a few. Smartlipo is a Liposuction procedure that employs a laser that, depending on the model claims to tighten skin and fascia and sculpt fat. The company states the effects can take 6 months or more to take full effect so hopefully you are at least 6 months out from your procedure. A brachioplasty is removal of excess skin from the inner and posterior arm that leaves a permanent scar from the armpit t…
1 week post op. Will my double bubble resolve itself?
Double bubble
Jun 3, 2017
The crease from a double bubble is your old inframammary fold crease. Your surgeon created a new lower fold to accommodate the implant otherwise it might have been too high. In many instances, over time, the old crease will stretch out and disssppear but you will never know unless you wait 6-12 months and see. If it hasn’t corrected by a year it probably won’t and you can discuss options with your surgeon. Good Luck!
I had a arm lift on 5/12/17 and my left arm is swelling. Is there anything you recommend I put
Left arm swelling after arm lift
May 18, 2017
One week after an arm lift swelling is very common but if one side is swollen and the other is not I’d advise an ultrasound exam of the left arm to check the patience of the veins. It’s probably all normal but that is the safest thing to doOther than that, look back at preop photos to see if the left side was larger right along. Most people aren’t symmetrical. Check to see if the left hand is more swollen than the right. That would strengthen my interest in ordering an ultrasound. Most i…
Will alloderm add any size in my breasts and can it be used to “manipulate” the breast to look
Benefits of Alloderm
May 18, 2017
Alloderm is thin sheets of collagen used primarily for support and positioning of the implant and muscle. Theoretically, if you used enough Alloderm it could add volume but that would be cost prohibitive and it’s conceivable it could alter the feel of the breast. An implant appropriately sized for the skin envelope of your breast is your safest bet. If you need to be larger using a tissue expander may be necessary though costly and time consuming. I hope this helps.
Will the rippling disappear when the alloderm is fully incorporated?
Rippling after augmentation
May 10, 2017
I have not had great luck using alloderm to treat rippling. When simply used as a filler it seems to conform to the ripples and doesn’t obliterate them. If one is trying to use allograft to decrease rippling it has to be used to fashion a tight pocket such that you squeeze the ripples out of the implant. That being said it’s less common to have ripples in the upper inner quadrant because the overlying pectoralis muscle hides most of them. perhaps the inner part of the muscle was dissected …
Can steroid shot or rasping help remove an AlloDerm implant?
Nasal irregularities
May 10, 2017
I agree with others that a steroid shot or rasping is not likely to do any good. Swelling in the first 6-12 months can make assessing the final result hard to see so I agree with others to proceed slowly and cautiously. Alloderm does tend to incorporate and resorb a bit so the problem may take care of itself over time. I would consider carefully injecting a small amount of hyaluronic acid filler into the depressed areas as a temporary way to camouflage the irregularities. It lasts 6-12…
How long until I can go back to my normal practice routine of tumbling and stunting?
Return to activities after Breast Augmentation
Nov 15, 2015
As a rule I advise my breast augmentation patients to hold off on vigorous activity for at least 6 weeks. With that said, it is probably important to be especially slow in returning to activities that make heavy use of your pectoral muscles if the implants are placed under the muscle. This would include activities such as push ups, bench press or any other activities that would simulate such activity. There is some concern the forceful activation of these muscles before the…
Why Do I Have to Wait For A Revision? My First Result Is Awful.
Your case
Jan 13, 2012
Looking at your photos you had both implants put in and skin taken away. Many commentors here have noted the difficulty with combining augmemntation and lift. I agree with them completely and all my patients know that revisionary surgery is more common when combining the two procedures. The biggest reason I can see for waiting is that if you need to correct lateral displacement by sewing the pocket down it helps to have a well-developed scar capsule to hold the sutures…
Do any Doctors Tighten Skin on Sides of Abdomen Instead of Cutting at Bikini Line?
Alternative Tummy Tuck Scars
Sep 1, 2010
The question posed by a size 2,  fit mother of 2 is whether a tummy tuck can be done leaving scars on the sides.

The answer to this question depends on the particulars of the situation.  In this case, the author indicates the muscles aren't stretched.  This seldom turns out to be the case at the time of surgery after two pregnancies.  Even the most fit mothers often benefit from muscle tightening.

Other issues to be considered are how much loose skin is…

can i have a second breast lift after 28 years?
Repeat Breast Lift
Jul 31, 2010
I agree with other respondents that while it is usually possible to redo a breast lift there are inherent risks. If possible it is wisest to go back to the original surgeon. They have the highest likelihood of knowing how the blood supply was altered. Getting old operative notes is nice but some surgeons are more detailed than others in their dictations. As long as you are aware of the risks and your surgeon has an appreciation for the complexities of a redo augmentation you could proceed….
Results of IPL breast enlargement?
Non-surgical breast enlargement using IPL
Jun 29, 2010
My secretary came in this AM and informed me she heard about using Intense Pulse Light to non-surgically enlarge breasts on a radio recently.  A quick search on the internet confirms various claims of such.  These claims all come out of South Africa using devices that aren't readily available here in the United States.  They claim to use laser technology developed in the United States as if that is a big selling card down there.  The before and after pictures…
Can Botox cause my head to fall forward after shots in the neck?
BOTOX in the neck
Jun 15, 2010
The concern about BOTOX shots causing one's head to fall forward are unlikely depending on where it was given. For cosmetic purposes, BOTOX is uncommonly  administered in minute quantities to bands on the front of the neck.  The muscle being treated is very superficial and has virtually no significant effect on neck movement.  In order to cause the head to fall forward, BOTOX would have to be administered to the muscles at the back of the neck in sufficient quantities…
Why hasn’t the no-vertical-scar breast reduction and lift technique gained wide acceptance?
Liimited popularity of the no vertical scar breast reduction
May 20, 2010
Surgical techniques come and go. Then they are rediscovered, perhaps modified and then come and go. The "no visible scar" breast reduction of Passot has been around for a while but was rediscovered a few years ago. It never enjoyed much popularity because as noted above, it is only useful in distinct situations-specifically when the nipple is far below the crease of the breast.

Most breast reduction patients have breasts that are not only too long but…
