Thank you for your question. If you are recovering as expected then I would recommend gradually starting two weeks after surgery. Of course you can start walking immediately after the procedure but exercise in the gym is something. Check with your plastic surgeon to see when you can start to sit for short periods of time before you start doing that. Following liposuction, the healing time varies from patient to patient. In general, following liposuction the skin continues to retract and can change appearance for three months following the procedure. For most of my patients I recommend to begin to gradually resume exercise between 2-4 weeks after liposuction and fat transfer. Liposuction addresses excess tissue or bulges in and area while skin excision addresses loose skin. So if you have excess skin and would like to have your buttocks lifted, then a posterior body lift with an incision above the buttocks is the answer. If it is a bulge with love handles that is the problem, lipo will give you the results you are looking for. The lipo scars are in the sacral dimples and small, 1.5 cm.

In some cases there is no glandular tissue so liposuction alone can give you the results that you want but this is not the case most of the time. Sometimes the glandular tissue only becomes noticeable after liposuction. And the recurrence of the glandular tissue is higher when direct excision is not performed after liposuction.

In most cases it is not advisable to fly 3 days after surgery. This is because you will most likely have drains in place and you will have difficulty having appropriate follow up after the surgery. Most plastic surgeons prefer to take care of their patients and it will be difficult to do that if you are far away from your surgeon. An additional issue is problems with moving fast if required from the plane, or in the airport while traveling.

While some do perform both surgeries at the same setting, most will stage them. This is because right after a BBL you want to avoid pressure on the buttocks and the fat transferred and at the same time avoid pressure on the breasts after a breast implant placement. It is best to very carefully consider this before proceeding with both procedure at the same time.

If you notice any significant changes after surgery such as increased swelling on one side, change in appearance on one side, or anything else unusual you should call your plastic surgeon immediately, because it may be related to bleeding or implant deflation. If it is not any of the above then the asymmetry may be due to something that was there before or that one implant is dropping faster than the other one which is often the case.

It is very normal to be nervous about your procedure. Are you still breast feeding? If you are, then you may want to speak with your surgeon about delaying it. The pain medications are not usually too much of a problem as long as you are not the only care giver.

Breast implant move around after surgery and this is normal. They only move in the pocket that the surgeon made and will not usually be permanently displaced. Now any lump in your breast should be evaluated by your Dr or your gyn Dr. Weight lifting with implants is usually safe so long as you are not having significant discomfort and are increasing the weight lifted slowly.
