Crows Feet and Botox?
Good Botox for Crows Depends on Technique
Dec 20, 2012
Unfortunately, there are doctors out there who take a weekend course and call themselves “certified” in botox. However, it is critical to fully understand the anatomy of the face prior to injecting botox. The crows feet injections need to be very superficial, and extend only so far down on the cheek in order to prevent accidentally “hitting” a nearby muscle. I would look for a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon in your area and go to that person for your next…
Lasers or Dermapen for Under the Eye Wrinkles?
Fraxel, Ultherafor under eye wrinkles
Dec 20, 2012
I’ve seen great results using a series of fraxel treatments for under eye wrinkles. Ulthera also tends to soften these lines by encouraging the production of collagen. Once either or both of these treatments are done, you can consider a little bit of filler or botox to soften any remaining lines.
Minimum Age for Having Major Laser Surgery?
Age Cutoff for laser
Dec 20, 2012
It’s actually more important to know how long the marks have been there, rather than how old the patient is. I’ve done laser treatments on infants, if the lesion is amenable to laser.

Hyperpigmented marks are not necessarily scars, and they might lighten over time with sun protection. If the dark marks are fresh, I would try using an exfoliating moisturizer such as Am-Lactin or a glycolic acid moisturizer. Glycolic acid peels might also help lighten the dark…

Looking for an Experienced Doctor in NJ/NYC Area That Does Botox Jaw Reduction?
Botox Jaw Reduction Very Effective
Dec 20, 2012
I’ve done a number of cases in which I inject botox into the jawline to taper it and make the jaw a bit more defined. I actually don’t think the technique is very difficult, but you have to make sure the patient’s anatomy is conducive to benefiting from the procedure. Then it’s a matter of finding the right dose for a patient. I usually start with conservative doses and see how someone responds. You can always add more at a follow up visit, but you can’t take botox away.
Forehead Wrinkles?
Best to combine glabella and forehead botox
Dec 20, 2012
If you treat the forehead with botox without treating the glabella, you run the risk of the patient feeling as though their forehead is “heavy.” It’s a neanderthal sensation and patients hate it. I have treated a number of patients with SIGNIFICANTLY higher doses in the forehead than what you’re worried about, without a ptosis/eyelid droop. It all depends on technique and finding a dose that’s best for the patient.
Best Laser for Lip Lines?
fraxel then belotero and botox
Dec 20, 2012
I would recommend doing a series of fraxel treatments for the lip lines (minimal downtime after each treatment) followed by Belotero injections and a drop of botox. I would do the laser first, because you might need less filler once the laser is done.
Corrective Dose of Botox?
botox can alter brows
Nov 7, 2012
I love using botox to shape the brows. Just a tiny drop of botox in the right place can lift, lower, or even give an arch to flat brows.

If your brows are uneven at baseline (without any botox), then you can either drop the higher brow OR raise the lower brow. However, if your brows are uneven AFTER botox, then an adjustment needs to be made. The best way to determine how to make the adjustment is for your doctor to have you make facial expressions in the office. That…
