Smoking is not an absolute contraindication for breast augmentation surgery. However, smoking does increase your risk of wound healing problems and risk of infection. Most swelling resolves over 3-6 months following liposuction. It is not uncommon to have some differences between the two sides. After all, we are not exactly mirror images of ourselves. The swelling from liposuction usually resolves over 3-6 months. Ballpark – 50 % after one month, 25 % after each of the second and third months and then diet and exercise may improve it more. The loose skin will contract to the best of its ability on its own. This depends on the elasticity and collagen in the skin. If you are left with loose skin, you may need an excision procedure. Weight maintenance is based on your strict adherence to a diet and exercise regimen.

The cost and down time required varies from surgeon to surgeon. You will need to check with surgeons in your area. Most patients can return to light duty or desk work in a day or two. Strenuous activity is usually delayed for about three weeks to allow the swelling to reduce. Strenuous activity may make you swell up more right after surgery.

You are only one day after surgery, so you will need to be patient to see if this doesn’t resolve. It is likely either swelling post surgery or residual fat around the umbilicus. If it is the later, it may need to be revised in the future. You should follow-up with your surgeon regularly throughout the postoperative healing course to see if anything else will be needed.

I usually would not recommend liposuction of the buttocks along with a BBL, unless there is a significant collection of localized adiposity (fat). In general, it usually does not make a lot of sense to remove and then add back. Liposuction of the flanks and perhaps outer thighs if needed will enhance the buttock shape, but liposuction of the buttock itself, may lead to flattening of the buttock and loss of shape.

You should see your surgeon ASAP. You may have developed a wound infection. Alternatively, you may just be “spitting” stitches from the incision. The suture material is suppose to dissolve, but some times it works its way out a bit like a pimple. Can’t say for sure based solely on photos. You need an in person evaluation.

The best implant style to use will be based on your breast and chest dimensions and the size you wish to go. anatomic style implants have fewer options of what will fit an individual patient’s chest/breasts. Understand that anatomic style implants are not a guarantee of “a natural appearance”. I’ve seen anatomic style implants end up looking totally “fake” and round implants looking totally “natural”. Anatomic implants do tip the scale towards a more natural look, but a guarantee.
