Should I get laser liposuction or tummy tuck?
Laser liposuction or tummy tuck?
Jul 16, 2019
Based on your photos, it appears you have some skin laxity and skin tone issues. My question is, why are you afraid of a tummy tuck? Did you get adequate counseling on both procedures? Without a physical exam, it is impossible to know if you have a separation in your abdominal wall muscles which can only be repaired with a tummy tuck. Liposuction is a great option, but it may leave you with more skin laxity. In some cases, I have removed excess skin with a…

Asymmetry
Dec 2, 2015
It is very difficult to see your pre-op photos because of the surgical markings. Therefore, determining if you had asymmetry before surgery is difficult. There is not significant asymmetry in the photos. However, if you are unhappy with your results, please seek another opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon.
8 months post op, hematoma, seroma, my stomach is hard. Any suggestions?
Complications are unfortnate
Oct 23, 2015
Your complication can happen after a tummy tuck. Hopefully, you were aware of this and signed an informed consent and discussed risks. I would not spend money on endermologie. Please see your surgeon if you feel comfortable with him/her for a possible diagnostic test to determine the cause of the bulge. Otherwise, seek a board certified plastic surgeon to determine a treatment plan (if any is needed).
How can I tell if I have been botched?
Follow-up and patience
Oct 23, 2015
There are a couple of recommendations. First, follow-up often with your surgeon (hopefully board certified in plastic surgery) so he/she can manage your recovery. Second, be patient. Swelling can take 6 months to go away. If you have drainage from your incisions and belly button, you should contact your doctor for advice. You should also wear your post-op compression garment 24/7 for 4-6 weeks post-op. At this point, your contour is not ideal, but without more pre-op photos and not knowing…
I am 60, and considering both face/neck lift and rhinoplasty. Should they be done at the same t
Face/Neck lift with Rhinoplasty
Nov 26, 2014
From your photo, it appears you would benefit from a neck lift and/or face lift. However, determining the need and possible results of a rhinoplasty is a complex question requiring evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon. A tip rhinoplatsy may help if that is your concern. The question at hand shouldn’t be if you have them done together but if you indeed need a rhinoplasty. If you have decided you want to go that route, and you are healthy, these procedures are often performed…
My face looks so square and bottom heavy. What treatment would you recommend; Facelift? Fillers
Filler vs Facelift
Nov 26, 2014
First, you do not look awful! If you are concerned with your facial appearance, please consult a board certified plastic surgeon who can offer you a range of options. Fillers such as Voluma can help nasolabial folds. It does not appear from the photos that you are a surgical candidate at this time.
What is the difference between chin lipo and neck lipo?
Chin vs neck liposuction
Nov 26, 2014
There is no difference between liposuction of the neck and chin. Liposuction of this area can improve the contour of the neck and jawline. A chin implant alone will not have any effect on the neck area, so if you find this area a concern, liposuction may be a great plan. Please be sure the physician performing the surgery is a board certified plastic surgeon who has experience in chin implants and liposuction and is using a chin implant that is the correct size and shape. Best wishes!
Male breast reduction – Swollen?
Male breast reduction – swollen?
Nov 26, 2014
The photo you provided is too blurry to assess much. If you had only skin removed, then it is possible the area is localized fat which may be addressed with liposuction or SmartLipo MPX. If you are unhappy, speak to the physician who performed the surgery and if you are not happy with his/her answer, seek another opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon.
How much pain is associated with a tummy tuck?
What level of pain to expect after a tummy tcuk
Nov 26, 2014
This is a great question and one I hear all the time! First, it is important to remember that all patients are different and experience pain differently. That being said, I use Exparel for pain control in all of my tummy tuck patients. This is a long acting medication injected during surgery which relieves pain and may reduce the need for narcotic pain medication post-op. The cost to my patients is $300 and they say it is worth every penny. Seek a board certified plastic surgeon who uses…
I am all set for my BA. How can I decide which size is best for me?
Best size of breast implants
Nov 26, 2014
You should have had an opportunity during a consultation with a plastic surgeon to try on a variety of implants. Once an overall look you prefer has been achieved, the physician needs to take specific measurements to determine which implant you need in term of profile. Since silicone implants are not filled during surgery, your surgeon cannot change the size intra-operatively. There is very little difference in the sizes you are considering, and the shape and placement of the implants may be…
What can I do about pre and post breast lift care?
Preparing for breast lift
Nov 6, 2014
Smoking can increase the risk of having complications with wound healing, so do not smoke for 6 weeks prior to and after surgery. Also, ask your plastic surgeon about supplements that can affect bleeding and anesthesia and avoid those. You should not be tanning at all due to skin cancer risk, but your scars can darken for up to one year post-op if exposed to sun. Please contact your plastic surgeon for his/her pre and post op instructions!
Do the incisions from my tummy tuck look ok? Is this normal?
Early post-op questions
Nov 5, 2014
All of my patients receive detailed written post-op instructions for a tummy tuck (and all procedures we perform). Bruising and swelling is to be expected, but I cannot determine if this is “normal.” If you have questions, please call your surgeon immediately. All the best for a good recovery.
What can be done for wrinkles too shallow for fillers?
Fine lines around the mouth
Nov 5, 2014
When patients present to my practice with this problem, I approach it with a multi-faceted approach. The first is a good skin care regimen including a retinol product (apply carefully and follow your physician instructions). The second is to consider a spot chemical peel around the mouth. Patients have been very happy with a croton oil peel which has some down time but can offer excellent results. Please be sure to see a physician with experience in using croton oil.
Redness will go away?
Redness after chemical peel
Nov 5, 2014
Peeling and redness is to be expected after many chemical peels. You should consult with the physician who did the peel for products which can be applied to keep the area moist and possibly reduce redness. Our office requires a pre-peel skin care regimen and a post-peel skin care regimen. Follow any instructions given to you as closely as possible. If you do not get the response you need, consult a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in chemical peels.
Facelift recovery time?
Recovering from a Facelift
Nov 5, 2014
Although each patient is different, I advise them to expect bruising for 7-10 days post-op. Swelling can persist for as long as 6 months, but barring any complications, you should be able to attend your reunion with confidence. Remember, following post-operative instructions is a critical part of the healing process.
