400-500cc does seem to be rather large for your body size. I would suggest you get a second opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon. You should be able to try on implant sizers (in a bra) in the office and and see how different size implants look, in a mirror. My patients find this to be a very useful tool to get the right size. It is your decision as to your implant size, the surgeon should be there to help guide you in selecting a implant and size to achieve your goals....

It is normal to have swelling from the trauma of any surgery. This is especially true in the first several months after tummy tuck. The other possible problem to consider is a seroma. In your pictures, you seem more swollen below the belly button, this is a typical area to have swelling if you have a seroma. I have had patients with similar problems with Latex. Most have used the original compression garment however put on an oversized tee shirt first (covering down to the hips), so the cotton is against your skin and the compression garment is over the tee shirt (not touching your skin). My patients have said this works fairly well.
