Answer Snippet
Are my breasts abnormal? Do I have parenchymal maldistribution?
Parenchymal Maldistribution?
Feb 23, 2018
Thanks for the question. Based on your photos, you do not have tuberous breasts in my opinion. It appears you have normal breast asymmetry with ptosis (drooping) of your breasts. I think you are an excellent candidate for a breast lift procedure, and if you desire larger more fuller breasts, a breast augmentation in combination with a breast lift. I think you should expect an excellent result with either procedure.
Fat above my butt on lower back. Do I need surgery to remove it?
Lower back fat pad
Jan 7, 2018
Thanks for the question. This can be a troublesome area to improve without intervention. Exercise likely won’t make a significant change. I would advise liposuction to recontour this area. This can be done in a brief outpatient procedure. Best of luck!
I’ve developed bruising 5 days after breast augmentation, is this a concern?
Bruising After Breast Augmentation
Dec 24, 2017
Thanks for the question. Bruising of this type is not unusual within the 1st week after surgery. It should fade over the next week or so. However, if you see additional changes, you should feel comfortable contacting your surgeon’s office with questions and concerns. Best wishes!
Is there any way to avoid areola stretching during breast augmentation?
Areolar Stretching
Dec 16, 2017
Thank you for the question. I would avoid any attempt at reducing your areolar size at your initial breast augmentation. I think if you choose an implant that isn’t too large and fits your breast diameter well, you likely won’t see much of a change in areolar size. I would suggest an incision in your inframmary fold and have the implant placed under the muscle. You may require a lift at some point, but I would wait. Some techniques to reduce areolar size can red…
Will my insurance cover skin removal/tummy tuck surgery – I am a diabetic.
Will insurance cover my skin removal?
Oct 28, 2017
Thanks for the question. Based on your photo, it appears that an abdominoplasty is not the appropriate operation for you. You may qualify for a panniculectomy, but you will certainly need to be evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon. Insurance qualification is based on several factors which may include BMI, stable weight, how low does your skin hang, repeated skin rashes, etc. This procedure is considered “functional” rather than cosmetic and the umb…
Just breast implants or would I also need a breast lift?
Breast Lift, Augmentation, or Both?
Sep 9, 2017
Thanks for the question. Based on your photographs, I feel a breast augmentation alone will give you a very nice result. Augmentation will give you some “lift” as well. Best of luck!
Do my breasts have any hope?!? What can I do to fix them?
Yes…your breasts have hope!
Sep 7, 2017
Thanks for the question. The simple answer is, YES…your breasts have hope. I would advise evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon. After evaluating your photos, it appears you have lost some volume to your breasts, there is some asymmetry, and they are ptotic (sagging). You also appear to have very large areolas. There are several ways to address your breasts based on your wishes. I think you will likely need a breast augmentation combined…
Breast lift possible to shift breast to an elevated position and for perkier appearance?
Breast Lift?
Aug 30, 2017
Based on your photos, you appear to be an excellent candidate for a breast lift. In my opinion, a vertical lift would be an excellent operation for you. This would result in scars around your nipple areolar complexes and a scar down the lower mid point of each breast, referred to as the meridian. This should give you a more shapely and coned appearance with more projected breasts. Best wishes and thanks for the question!
I had a BA about a month ago. I feel a bulge or something protruding from the bottom of my left br
Palpable Mass at the Bottom of the Left Breast following Breast Augmentation
Aug 30, 2017
I think you are likely feeling the implant. I don’t know which type of implant you had placed, but the skin and soft tissue in the area can be thin, and whether or not the implant was placed above or below the muscle really doesn’t matter. The muscle was likely released along the bottom of the breast if the implants were placed under the muscle, so it can still be palpable. I would suggest a follow up appointment with your surgeon. If traveling back to Miami isn’t an…
I will have liposuction done on my arms. Antibiotics suggestion for sensitive stomach and skin?
Antibiotics after Arm Liposuction
Aug 30, 2017
In my opinion, only perioperative (antibiotics at the time of surgery) are indicated. There is no indication for 5 days of antibiotics following the procedure. Your surgeon and anesthesiologist should be able to determine a proper IV antibiotic for you to take at the time of surgery based on your medication allergies. Clindamycin is a common choice if you do not have an allergy to it.
Do I need a tummy tuck – mini tuck – or just lipo to fix my midsection?
Tummy Tuck or Mini-abdominoplasty/liposuction?
Jul 30, 2017
Thanks for the question. Based on your photo, it appears you have a fair amount of skin laxity and mid abdominal bulging. To obtain the best result and an outcome that will please you, I would recommend a full abdominoplasty. Anything less in my opinion would be sub-optimal. This will not only remove excess skin, but flatten your abdomen.
In reference to your 2nd question, a lower body lift with possible auto-augmentation of your buttock may…
Why are my nipples pointing down and why do I have so much upper pole fullness. 4 months post-op.
High Riding Implants – 4 months postop
Jul 30, 2017
Thanks for the question. You’re implants are riding a bit high, but you are still early in the process. With time and massage, they should drop and settle into their final position over the next few months. I think you are going to have an excellent result and be very pleased. I would encourage you to keep your plastic surgeon aware of your concerns and they can help and inform you on appropriate massage techniques and other strategies to guide you through the process…
Is it safe to get nipple piercings 2 years post op breast augmentation?
Nipple Poercings post Breast Augmentation
Jul 29, 2017
Thanks for the question. Yes, in my opinion. 2 years out is more than enough time. However, I do recommend going to the most reputable facility you can find and make sure they use good sterile technique as infection is always a risk.
Do my breasts sit lower than average? Can I achieve a nice and full look? What is my best method o
Breast Augmentation
Jul 29, 2017
Thanks so mich for the question.
Your breasts have a nice size and shape, and in my opinion they do not sit lower than average. At your height and appropriate weight, you will likely need a fairly large implant to achieve your goals, and the implant selection will be very important. You appear to have a nice frame which can accommodate a large implant. My preference is silicone for a more natural feel, and you are likely an excellent candidate for a shaped…
Is lipo a good choice for a person weighing 290 lbs?
Liposuction?
Jul 27, 2017
Thank you for the question. In my opinion, liposuction is typically not a good idea for someone significantly overweight. Liposuction is a body contouring procedure more ideal for individuals close to their “goal weight”. It isn’t a weight loss procedure. Every patient is different and everyone’s goals are different. I would recommend an evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon. Cosmetic procedures can be quite expensive, and you want to get the most “bang…
