Answer Snippet
SMAS facelift 10 weeks ago, a dimple has appeared under my chin, will this improve?
10 weeks Post Op Facelift
Jul 14, 2017
Swelling and shifting pockets of fluid are to be expected after a facelift and liposuction. The first 3 months post operative are the most critical period of the healing process. Your swelling in the photos appears normal, however you should see your Plastic Surgeon for a follow up and express your concerns.

For sagging skin (mouth to chin), is the only remedy a facelift or will fillers work?
Facelift than Cosmetic fillers
Jul 14, 2017
Dermal fillers alone will likely not yield the lift that you desire. A lower SMAS face and neck lift is the optimal way to lift and tighten loose skin, followed by laser resurfacing for texture, and lastly, fillers to address your volume loss. Facelift results typically last 10 years while most cosmetic dermal fillers last up to one year.
Post neck and facelift swelling got worse after 4 weeks.
Post Facelift Swelling
Jul 11, 2017
Swelling is gravitational, as the swelling resolves and dissipates you will have pockets of swelling that may appear as lumps or bumps and typically resolve on there own over the next few months. A facelift takes up to a full year for complete healing to take place. It is much to soon to determine your final result, at this point you should consult with a plastic surgeon in your area.

Possible Ptosis after Upper/Lower Blepharoplasty?
Multiple surgical procedures increase prolonged swelling
Jul 11, 2017
This is definitely a valid concern, from your photo it appears to be swelling. Multiple surgical procedures increase prolonged swelling. You should speak with your surgeon regarding this matter.

What causes ringing in the ears after having facelift surgery?
Ringing in the Ears Post Facelift
Jul 11, 2017
The report of ringing in the ears (tinnitus) post Facelift surgery is a rare occurrence. This ringing is from congestion of the inner ear caused by intubation of the oral airway from the anesthesiologist. The tinnitus is resolved by decongestant or saline flush. The nerves are not effected, the tinnitus is a transit side effect.

SMAS vs Deep Plane Face Lift
Jul 11, 2017
The deep plane face lift incorporates all three layers, skin, fat SMAS as one unit which are lifted together. This is in contrast to the traditional facelift procedure wherein the skin and SMAS are lifted individually. The latter affords much greater control with respect to direction of pull. The SMAS lift will give you a longer lasting result. I would recommend using a US Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for this procedure. Facelifts requires expert skills and is...

Face Lift Recovery
Jul 11, 2017
The most active healing period post face lift surgery is the first 3 months, taking up to one year for full recovery. Do not be alarmed by ear placement, the ear positioning is never altered during a face lift it will soften as it heals. You can talk to your surgeon regarding early intervention if your developing atrophic scars.

Mid face lift? Cheek lift? Eyes? What should I do?
Face lift is Best
Jul 11, 2017
Having a lower face lift and lower bleph with possible pinch might be the best option to correct the loose skin you are concerned with. Scars that run on the inner tragus of the ear and behind the ear are the best option. Depending on the type of closure and skill of your surgeon, the surgical scars should heal and be virtually untraceable. Regarding the lack of volume, after your face lift fully heals you could opt for doing Sculptra Aesthetic (poly-L-lactic acid) which is a...
I am a 36J at 19 years old. Will a doctor consider still performing a surgery on me to go down
Breast Reduction
Jun 28, 2017
A breast reduction sounds like it would benefit you greatly. If you wait till you are older you could experience back pain and other issues associated with having large breasts. These procedures are sometimes eligible for insurance, you may ask your provider to submit the case to your insurance. Book your consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area.

Will canthoplasty and lower eyelid surgery worsen tear troughs?
Canthopexy for Lower Lids
Jun 28, 2017
Lower lids are a delicate area, and a canthoplexy is required for long lasting results. Regarding your tear troughs, you will see some correction and may need to supplement any volume loss with a hyaluronic acid filler post procedure.
Will Liposuction on the Medial and Lateral Thighs Be of Service to my Shape?
Response
Sep 26, 2013
You are certainly a candidate for liposuction particularly within the medial thigh region. You should be aware that that the medial thigh area is comprised of two component parts, one located more posteriorly and the other more anteriorly or toward the front of your inner thigh. This latter area is also referred to as the median femoral triangle. Any benefit from liposuction of the outer thigh region would be minimal. With regard to the treatment of cellulite, although there are a number of...
Breast Implant Rippling 6 Weeks Post Op?
Rippling occurrence in thinner persons- Jonathan H. Sherwyn, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Apr 10, 2013
You are absolutely not overreacting. Implants positioned over the muscle have a greater risk for palpability and rippling. Furthermore, implants that have a textured or rough surface are also at greater risk of palpability and rippling Finally, implants that are of larger size particularly when placed over muscle in persons with thinner skin can absolutely expect this occurrence So I would call into question the planning of your procedure.
My Implants Have Become Uneven?
Pocket Revision Needed - Jonathan H. Sherwyn, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Apr 10, 2013
The pocket has changed. It might have changed in size and dimension as one can see in a capsular contracture. This absolutely can be fixed by revising the pocket.
Will I Need to Have Revision Surgery?
Revision Needed-Jonathan H. Sherwyn, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Apr 10, 2013
Unequivocally, this is the result of inaccurate position and placement of the implant. With implant surgery, the breast implant drives the position of the nipple and your implant is malpositioned to a higher location which is driving your nipple downward. The postoperative use of straps can not correct this. This can be the result of improper technique and inadequate pocket design or contracture of the pocket itself.
What Should I Do to Make my Breast Become Soft?
Jonathan H. Sherwyn, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Apr 10, 2013
At this point in time post procedure, surgical revision is required which often times involves work on the capsule which is the scar tissue that surrounds the implant and line the pocket. First, If implants are intact, there is no need for replacement. However, any rupture of the implant would require replacement. Secondly, sometimes implants can acquire a film which contains bacteria. This is called biofilm and contributes to capsular contracture. An...
