Why aren’t breast implants lifetime devices?

Although implants are very well designed today and may last a lifetime no one can guarantee this for every patient. In addition there are many non implant reasons that you may want to refoe your breasts over a lifetime. More children, sagging, even newer implant technologies etc etc.

Looking at your photos it would be best to use a moderate profile implant round. An anatomical shaped implant with high projection would also give you outstanding results. I would avoid a low profile implant as your breasts lack projection and fullness and a low profile implant will be wide and flat augmenting you in the wrong direction. You need projection not width.,

The hemoglobin is fine. The first question is why your WBC count is low. Is this a normal variant? Do you have an auto immune disorder? Do you have a bold disorder or a neoplastic condition. You may already know this answer but if not we need that checked out. If that’s cleared by our hematologist then there should be no reason why you can have surgery.

The more fat removed in any liposuction procedure the higher the risk. Maximum safe in office is 5litres in hospital 7litres. This should be more than enough fat for any transfer.

This is Dr. Kaila from Atlanta GA. Looking at your photos you will not require a lift. You just need implants. 450 cc will likely be adequate but it really depends on your height and base width. It’s best you come in for a consult so you can be sized perfectly. Over or under the muscle is a personal preference. The majority of patients prefer under the muscle. Implant projection is a large issue for you and it correlates with size. You most likely will require a high profile…

Dear Khris,Dr. Kaila from Buckhead. Yes the nipples will likely correct with the act of the breast lift. There is a specific procedure that can be done just to pull out inverted nipples but, this will most likely not be required when a lift is performed. If you are not performing a lift then you will have to do this specific procedure.

Your question is a very common one. Some people try to get around a lift by putting in a larger implant. The problem will be the results will be short lived. The weight of a larger implant all eventually cause sagging and will eventually put you back into the same position except with a larger more sagging breast. Doing implants for now will give you a good outcome and buys you the time to decide to do a lift later. Remember you can always add lift incisions you can’t take them away….

Dear Shamzali,You have some volume loss and sagging post children and breast feeding. This is very common. An augment in this naturally sagging breast will inherently look very natural and not look fake. Under the muscle silicone would be my suggestion for the most natural feel. Yes fat transfer lasts 3 months post procedure all fat that did not survive the transfer is resorbed and you are left with the surviving fat. In my hands I find approximately 70% of the fat that is TRANSFERED survives the transfer and remains, 30% resorbs. Fat can be TRANSFERED almost anywhere there is a vascular bed for the fat to survive.

You are way too early. You are having the typical patient post procedure anxiety. In my experience it takes 3 months for the implants to fully drop and settle. Then the nipple should roll up a little. Don’t worry keep in touch with your surgeon. Let it settle.

Your question is a good one. Yes by lifting the breast properly and repositioning fullness in the upper pole you can create more upper pole fullness and increased projection just like an implant without one.
