Thank you for your question. Breast development is different for everyone; typically breasts reach their full development when the patient is 18-22 years old. However, your breasts will continue to change with time as well, especially after weight gain/ loss, pregnancy, or nursing.

Make sure your surgery is preformed in an accredited surgery center with board-certified nurse anesthetist or anesthesiologist and with a board-certified plastic surgeon.

The pocket is still getting adjusted to having the implant and the dermal bands in the previous crease sometimes requires time to stretch and smooth out. As a mom, and plastic surgeon for many "mommy makeovers," I can definitely relate to your question! In order to restore volume, especially in the upper pole, a small implant with possible donut lift may work, but I am basing off your photos only and not a full examination, which is necessary in any operative planning. Make sure you try on different sizes in your consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to find a size that works with your aesthetic goals. Good luck!

Skin excision is typically done in a mastopexy or breast lift fashion to achieve the most aesthetically pleasing breast shape. It is very common to have swelling and bruising right after surgery. Gynecomastia surgery typically entails either liposuction alone or with direct excision of the breast tissue or skin. All of these factors can have an impact on the amount of swelling you have and your ultimate result. My patients are placed in a compressive garment after surgery but this is dependent on surgeon's preference. Please check in with your surgeon about your concerns.
