Laser Beard Removal
Slow and steady on the beard with the Diode or Nd:Yag
Aug 10, 2011
The beard or any part of the face are often very sensitive. I recommend either the Diode or Nd:Yag laser. Both can have excellent results on the beard. After years of years of treating beards and even thinning my own, I think it makes sense to shrink the beard slowly and symmetrically to avoid severe discomfort and complications that may occur during a full facial treatment. It may take longer to achieve your goals, but it is safer and much more tolerable. I usually recommend you start on…
Can I Use Retin-A Every Night?
Retina- A is my nightly secret
Jul 30, 2011
I have been using Retin-A every night for the past 14 years and I think has done a wonderful job keeping my skin look healthy and fresh. Just be cautious in the sun and avoid using if your skin is broken or irritated.
Can You Have IPL Treatment if You’ve Been Treated for Skin Cancer?
IPL after skin cancer
Feb 13, 2011
There is no problem using this technology after a skin cancer. Some doctors even use this in conjunction with a special cream to treat pre cancers. It can be helpful to reduce the redness in the scar after the surgery has healed.
Does IPL Give Effective Results?
IPL for hair removal
Feb 13, 2011
I have both a Diode laser and an IPL in my office. IPL can be helpful, but given a choice I would always use the Diode laser over an IPL. The Diode is much more effective and requires many fewer treatments.
Reduce Chin / Mentalis Size with Botox or Dysport?
Shrinking your Chin with Botox or Dysport
Feb 13, 2011
Botox and Dysport can reduce the size of the chin muscle. It is best used to treat that "pebbly" look to the chin but can reduce some of the muscle bulk as well. It may not be perfect, but might be helpful.
Retin-A w/ Antibiotics?
No risks when using Retin-A
Feb 13, 2011
Retin-A and topical Clindamycin are safe prior to going to the doctor or dentist. Very little of these topical medications are absorbed into your system. Nonetheless, it is a good idea to always mention to your doctor or dentist the medications you are on. Despite little absorption of these medications, it is still considered unsafe to get pregnant while on Retin-A.
Dysport Headache – How Long Will It Last?
Dysport and headaches
Feb 13, 2011
It can be super disappointing to get a headache after a cosmetic procedure that is supposed to make you feel better. Usually temporary, it may be the result of your muscles adjusting to the new movement patterns that are from relaxing certain muscles. Hang in there, it should get better over the next few days and the muscle figurehead over the next few weeks.
