Tummy tucks are commonly performed in patient who have previously had a C-section. The tummy tuck surgery often removes the existing C-section scar. It is advisable to delay the tummy tuck surgery until you no longer plan to have more children because it is unpredictable how your skin and muscle will react with pregnancy following a tummy tuck and you may end up needing another tummy tuck.
Swelling related. Can this get worse?

Swelling following a tummy tuck may persist up to 3 months but most should resolve within a few weeks. Wearing an abdominal binder helps to decrease the swelling. If you feel that your swelling is progressively getting worse, you should follow up with your plastic surgeon to make sure that you don't have a fluid collection (seroma) building up.

You are right in that the body appears very differently lying down vs standing up.  In an abdominoplasty, markings for the surgery are done preoperatively with the patient standing up and adjustments are then made during surgery with the patient lying down.  Often, the patient is flexed during surgery to maximize the amount of skin removal.  A surgeon who is experienced at performing abdominplasties will be able to make this determination during surgery.

Swelling following an abdominoplasty, especially if you also have liposuction, may last up to 3-6 months.  Wearing a compression garment can often help with the swelling.  In terms of scars, massaging, silicone gel sheeting, and pressure have been shown to be effective for the appearance of scars.

Thank you for your question and photos.  While a brachioplasty can significantly improve the contour of your upper arms, it can leave very prominent and unsightly scars.  Scars can take up to a year to mature and soften.  To lessen the prominence of scar after surgery, silicone-gel sheeting, fractional laser treatments, and other scar management treatments have been shown to effective.  Discuss with your plastic surgeon the possibilities of using these modalities.

Thank you for your question and photos.  Based on your photos, you seem to be healing well.  Your incision is intact and there are no signs of infection. It is normal to have some residual swelling following a tummy tuck, which should resolve over time.  Scars can take up to 6 months to mature and soften.  You should discuss with your plastic surgeon for basic scar management.
12 months post op Tummy tuck ledge , bump above scar line. Any suggestions?
Dog Ear Following Abdominoplasty

Slight imperfections, such as dog ears, can happen following an abdominoplasty.  Dog ears result when there is redundant tissue at the end of the incision.  Small dog ears, such as yours, can be corrected under local anesthesia in the office. 
When is the best time to return to the gym after arm lift surgery?

Typically, you should wait 6 weeks before doing any heavy lifting or participate in rigorous physiccal activities.  It is important that you slowly transition yourself and increase the activity level as tolerated.  With brachioplasty, patients sometimes have scar contracture, especially in the axillar, that may limit their range of motion.  You should talk to you plastic surgeon before starting any heavy physical activity.

In November 2006, the FDA approved silicone gel-filled breast implants for breast augmentation in women over age 22 and for breast reconstruction in all women.  The FDA does not specifically prohibit the use of these implants for augmentation in patients under 22.  Therefore, you may still use these implants as off-label use. However, manufacturers will not honor their warranties for off-label use.

While an in-person consultation with a plastic surgeon would be necessary to fully evaluate your abdomen to determine whether or not you will need a tummy tuck due to the many factors that are used to make that determination.  However, based on your photos, you do not have enough excess skin to benefit from a tummy tuck.  Liposuction is a procedure in which undesired fat is removed using a cannula through very small incisions and can give you an improved contour without significant scars....

Common to Have Post-Operative Swelling

It is common to have post-operative swelling following an abdominoplasty and liposuction.  The swelling may take months to completely resolve.  Wearing compression garments can help with swelling.  I often tell patients to wait at least 3-6 months before determining the final results of an abdominoplasty and liposuction.  If your swelling  progressively worsen or if you have significant pain, redness, drainage, or fever, you should inform your plastic surgeon.
