I have been doing SmartLipo for almost 7 years and have found it to be extremely effective in the right individuals. In general swelling will start to decrease over the first 3 to 6 weeks and continue for several months. The recovery time and post surgical discomfort are both dependent on whether muscle plication (tightening/repair) is done during the procedure. This is true for either a full or mini tummy tuck. In Virginia both procedures can be done during the same surgery. The hospitals separate the times for cosmetic and insurance based portions. It is important to have an accurate diagnosis and be certain that it is a fibroadenoma before undertaking the cosmetic aspect of the surgery. In some cases the same incision can be used but this is not always possible and you should be made aware of the planned approaches prior to your surgery.
