Should I get a revision? Should I see a new doctor or go back o the same one?
several methods to even them
Oct 15, 2018
Thank you for your question. If your original surgeon is a board certified plastic surgeon, you definitely should seek their advice on revision surgery, and should expect some consideration of a discount to improve your symmetry. You would need an exam for confirmation, but appear to have a capsule contracture on one side, and this can usually be corrected. You might also require a lift with augmentation revision to obtain the best results.
What is bulging from this hole in my tummy tuck incision 7 1/2 months post op?
suture abscess (dissolving)
Jul 2, 2018
There are deep sutures placed during a tummy tuck that usually are long lasting but dissolvable sutures. As they dissolve, it can create inflammation and purulent drainage that looks like an infected pimple. You should discuss it with your surgeon, as you could also have infected mesh or permanent sutures causing the sinus tract.
Had lift and implants 1 year ago and I want perkier!
larger implants and a revision lift
Jul 2, 2018
Hi. Sorry about your frustration. It's not easy to see from your photo, but you might require both new larger implants and a revision of your lift to further tighten the skin envelope. If you just add extremely large implants alone, you might quickly sag even further.
Which doctors do large implants on tall small frame women? I’m 5'7" and 107 lbs. I’m currently a
need more information
Jul 2, 2018
Thank you for your question. You should seek a consultation from a board certified plastic surgeon. It's very hard to give you much of an opinion without at least photographs. If you are a 36D currently, adding large implants could contribute to further drooping, or ptosis of your breasts unless combined with a lift. One thing to consider is that the large "Pam Anderson" look is difficult to maintain and requires revision surgeries over years to prevent progressive drooping.
Is it common for the skin to look glassy and green? Should I consult my surgeon for treatment of
normal bruising and healing
Jul 2, 2018
Congratulations on your surgery. You might have had some previous bleeding into the tissues. The discoloration is from resolving bleeding/bruising. Your skin might change colors from orange to yellow before back to it's normal color.
I had a tummy tuck a year and a half ago. My belly button looks awful. Can it be fixed?
Not easy
Jul 2, 2018
It's difficult to know the best option without a physical exam and more history, but it is possible to revise your umbilicus. The simplest option would include retrimming the umbilicus and re-insetting it to create more of an almond or triangular shape. This would not address the surrounding discolored skin, however, and the more aggressive plan would be to excise that surrounding skin and re-inset the umbilicus. Sometimes this could stretch and lead to bad hypertrophic scarring around your...
I'm having a Mommy Makeover. I have two options for the TT. The question would be what do you th
full TT is better, small vertical scar is ok
Oct 1, 2017
Thank you for the question. The best overall abdominal contours are almost always with a complete abdominoplasty with plication of the muscle, and keeping the scar at the lowest possible place on the lower abdomen, even if it means a small vertical scar. The small vertical scar is better than pulling the tension too tight, or a very high transverse scar. Also, the mini- TT without relocation of the belly button often leads to an abnormal fullness of the upper abdomen above the belly button,...
I went to my first consult and was told I need a Fluer de lis Tummy tuck? Is it my best option?
different approaches
Sep 19, 2017
Than you for your question. There are several approaches to your anatomy. If you have a previous midline scar, it makes sense to do the fleur-de-lis. Many of us do not like the visible midline scar and you could have a very nice result with an extended lower abdominal tummy tuck without the vertical midline scar, especially without significant posterior skin excess.
Want more than one opinion on how my breasts look almost 3 weeks after anchor lift and augmentat
wait 6 months
May 4, 2017
The combined augmentation with lift procedure is difficult and revision rates are very high. You appear to have a good early result, although you have visible asymmetry, this will change over time so I would not judge your result for 3-6 months. You should have frequent visits with your surgeon as you go through the next several months of the healing process. Asymmetry can indicate early contracture on one side or bottoming out on the other.
Do I need a lift? Getting implants, but don't want to move my nipple.
no
Feb 20, 2017
You don't need a lift. You have a tight lower pole which can also occur also with tuberous breasts. There may have been some confusion over the lift suggestion due to that possibility. Sometimes the lower breast needs to have the fold adjusted and the constriction released to allow the implant to drop, and sometimes herniation of breast tissue can worsen at the areola after placement of an implant, prompting the need for tightening of the areola.
What can I do to correct my breasts?
complicated but you could have improvement
Sep 1, 2016
You have a very challenging set of problems with your breasts, including a degree of tuberous breast as previously described. You also appear to have the classic post-massive weight loss breast including severe ptosis, stretched lower pole and an indistinct IMF. You also have a lot of stretch marks on your abdomen and arms suggesting weight loss. Your problems can be improved significantly with a breast lift with implants and areola reduction. This can be a tricky procedure and...
Any suggestions for Breast Lift, asymmetry, under-developed, degree of ptosis?
several choices
Sep 1, 2016
You could either lift both and reduce the larger breast or lift both and place implants. You should see aboard certified plastic surgeon for consultation to determine your preference.
Will a tummy tuck help me?
yes
Sep 1, 2016
You are a good candidate for an abdominoplasty. You could have a much better shape with limited liposuction and a tummy tuck with limited undermining. It will improve your abdominal contour and a lot of the lower stretch marks, but not the upper abdominal stretch marks.
I am 3 1/2 weeks post op tummy tuck Is this an open tummy or just something that will heal with
mild flap necrosis
Jul 24, 2016
You have a mildly ischemia abdominal flap. You should see your surgeon to follow it. This can happen with tight closures, aggressive liposuction during the procedure, or rarely with infection. Your surgeon will be the best to advise you on wound care to allow it to heal. It should not impact your long term result.
Can you help me find a dr to expel the saline from my implants?
you can have them needle aspirated
Jul 24, 2016
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with macromastia. You could consider just having the fluid aspirated from the implants in the office. This will give your breasts time to tighten some. The only downside to having the deflated saline implants in is there sometimes is a "crunchy" feeling and rarely a hard corner of a folded implant can create a sharp edge and lead to a skin perforation. You might still want a lift or small reduction later, but you could wait. Alternatively, you could have...
