How soon can I apply silicone strips to my TT scar?
Scar care
Mar 30, 2018
There isn’t any real scientific data on when to start silicone strips. I generally recommend starting after the incision is completely closed; i.e. there are no scabs or open areas left. Usually this is at 1-3 weeks.
Is it normal for breast to look boxy after a breast lift only – 1 day post-op.
Boxy breasts
Mar 26, 2018
I agree that one day, or even one week after surgery is too early to assess the results. You surgeon likely over-corrected your breasts during the lift, since gravity always affects the breasts as they settle into a normal shape and appearance. Be patient and make sure to follow up with your surgeon.
53 years old, determining need for brachioplasty. Looking for advice on how long to wait and what to try
Arm lift?
Mar 26, 2018
I’m afraid your problem isn’t so much excess skin as a loss of elasticity. Procures to contour you arm tend to fix a 3D problem (the contour) with a 2D problem (the scar). In your case, the scars will probably be more noticeable than the relaxed skin. In other words, your problem isn’t bad enough to warrant surgery. Unfortunately, non invasive treatments are not likely to be of help either.
I have tear drop silicone implants since 2000, so 18 years old. How can I tell if one ruptured?
Implants
Mar 21, 2018
Your best bet is to see a plastic surgeon to asses what is going on. If you have developed significant scar tissue around the implant, or you are unhappy with your appearance, you may want to consider surgery to revise your result and possibly change out your implants. If you wish to avoid further surgery and are looking for peace of mind, you may want to consider an MRI, which is the only way to definitively check for implant rupture. Either way, you should probably follow up.
Are these dog ears or do I need liposuction on my flanks?
Dog ears
Dec 26, 2017
I agree that you’d probably benefit from a minor revision, consisting of some liposuction and a revision of the scars if need be.
Is this swelling or will I require revision?
Swelling
Dec 26, 2017
It is still a bit early to know whether you will need a revision. It is very common to have some prolonged swelling, especially above the incision. Your best bet is to discuss your concerns with your surgeon, who should be able to give you a sense of your progress.
Why is my scar taking time to heal ? I had a tummy tuck 2 months ago and my scar doesn’t look ok, I am s
See your surgeon
Dec 6, 2017
You best bet is to see your current surgeon often until this heals by itself. I wouldn’t spend a lot of extra money on a second opinion right now unless your current surgeon isn’t responsive to your needs. The scar that results can be dealt with down the line when healing is complete and may heal better that you expect. Good luck.
Should my stomach be this large 4 months post TT procedure?
Result after TT
Dec 6, 2017
It’s difficult to comment on whether your result is what it should be without seeing your before pictures and knowing what your weight has done. There are a lot of factors that affect one’s result, including how much weight is held inside the abdomen (rather than under the skin), overall body mass index, as well as postoperative weight gain. If you have gained weight, you can certainly put it back on in a different place than others might, so their experience might not apply to you. Your…
Asymmetry 1 month after bilateral uplift?
Asymmetry
Oct 2, 2017
Based on your photos, you still have a fair amount of healing to go, so I would be patient. Things will continue to change over 4-6 months, and I would not be surprised if things even out. Best wishes.
Is it normal to have blisters or peeling skin on your incision after having a tummy tuck?
Blistering
Oct 2, 2017
I’m sorry that you are having trouble with healing. Blistering is not normal after a tummy tuck. I suggest you follow up with your surgeon to help treat the problem areas you have identified. Best wishes.
I have 800cc overfilled saline implants. I’m 5’8 and about 160lbs. Will downsizing implants be right for
Downsizing
Oct 2, 2017
Without photos it is hard to be sure, but downsizing from a DDD to a C will almost certainly require a significant breast lift using scars along the bottom of your breast, up the middle, and around the areola. The risks of downsizing are mainly related to the lift and include asymmetry, sensation changes, unfavorable scars, problems with healing. Because of this, make sure you find an experienced breast surgeon. Best wishes.
I’m at 4 weeks post op, tummy tuck, breast reduction. Lipo also. Extreme sensitivity in abdominal area,
Sensitivity
Oct 2, 2017
Sensitivity is very common after surgery. This usually results from nerve irritation, which can cause all sorts of unpleasant sensations, such as pins and needles, chafing, hot/cold, and the like. This will generally improve with time. Swelling is not uncommon, either, and may take several months to resolve. Best wishes.
Am I even a potential candidate for a tummy tuck and/or a Mommy Makeover? Or should I give up?
TT vs lipo
Sep 25, 2017
Hi, it’s hard to say what you are a candidate for without photos to know exactly where your scars are and what the problem areas are. The scar tissue your surgeon referred to is likely inside your abdomen, and would not interfere with liposuction or a TT. You really need  a consult with a PS to determine which procedure would be best and the safest way to proceed. A TT can remove many scars. Liposuction may help, but may not address the effects of your scars on your abdominal contour. As a …
Is this a fibrosis? What can I do? Please help
Bump
Sep 25, 2017
It is difficult to tell what the problem is based on the photos. If the bump is on the scar itself, it may be a hypertrophic scar or keloid that may be amenable to an injection. If it is a larger area of swelling, above the umbilicus, it may simply require more time or ultimately may require a revision. You best bet is to address your concerns with your surgeon.
What has been done to my belly button?
Belly button
Sep 25, 2017
I agree that your belly button will likely improve in appearance with time. It is not uncommon for the belly button to appear higher after a TT, especially when a large, heavy pannus is removed. This is because the weight of the pannus has elongated and dragged the belly button down over the years. Where your belly button is now is likely its normal anatomic position on the abdominal wall. If the opening is tight and deep, there are often things that can be done to improve it in the office…
