Answer Snippet
Are chemical body peels the same formula as a chemical face peel?
Peels to the body are lighter than to the face
Oct 8, 2019
The face has many oil glands and small hair follicles that help the skin heal after a peel. Healing on the face is mostly compete after 7 to 9 days. The rest of the body is slower to heal than the face and typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. Lighter peels are used on the body compared with the face.
Can a chemical peel be applied to the neck area? What can be done for this area?
Chemical peels can be done on the neck to improve brown spots and creepy skin.
Oct 8, 2019
Chemical peels can improve brown spots, dull complexion and mild creepiness on the neck. If the face is peeled, often it is important to also peel the neck so that everything blends. The neck does not have as many oil glands as the face so usually the peel to the neck is lighter to help with healing.
What is the best maintenance in between chemical peels to enhance their results?
Maintenance between Chemical Peels
Oct 8, 2019
Between chemical peels patients can best maintain their results by using sunscreen during the day plus either Retin A cream or glycolic acid cream at night. These products really do work if you stick to it!
Will a chemical peel diminish upper lip lines?
Lip lines can easily be treated with long lasting, natural appearing results with a Chemical Peel
Oct 8, 2019
In my hands, nothing works better or has longer lasting results than a chemical peel for treating etched in lip lines. Patients are also happy with fillers and laser treatments. Often I will peel the pink of the lip as well. This can give the lip a little more volume.
How long will it take for my dark acne spots to fully clear up? What can I use to help fade them? W
Getting dark acne spots to fade
Oct 8, 2019
Acne spots often take a long time to fade. Salicylic acid peels and Retin A cream can help spots fade and are safe on most skin types.
I was wondering how long will I have to wait until I can actually go out into the sun ie: pool and
Time away from the sun after a chemical peel
Oct 8, 2019
After a light chemical peel, patients have to avoid the sun for about a week or two. After a medium or deep peel it is best to avoid the sun for about one to three months. This allows fresh new skin to heal properly.
Why is TCA CROSS not used more widely?
TCA CROSS treatment is excellent for ice pick acne scars
Oct 8, 2019
TCA CROSS is an excellent treatment for individual ice pick acne scars. It can’t be used over the entire face because it would be too strong. Many patients are helped by this treatment.
