Is my DDD to B reduction too risky?
How small can breasts be reduced
Dec 13, 2016
Thank you for your question and photos. Promising a post operative bra size is next to impossible. The primary goal of breast reduction should be to remove excess weight causing neck/back/shoulder pain issues. Secondary goals should be to create a youthful, non-droopy breast that is proportional to your overall body. To preserve blood supply to your nipple you need to leave enough breast tissue behind, otherwise you risk problems with blood flow to these areas. The best way to reduce your ri...
Can I get lipo and a BA during the same procedure?
Combining liposuction and breast augmentation
Dec 13, 2016
Thank you for your question. In general, YES you can combine the two procedures. However, based on your medical history your surgeon may want to separate the procedure as increased time in the operating room can increase complication rates especially in people with medical issues. You may also want to limit the amount of areas being treated with liposuction.Best Regards.Dr. Ross Stutman
Fatty gynecomastia liposuction: It is normal to have a persistent hematoma three months after surgery?
Hematoma after gynecomastia
Dec 13, 2016
Thank you for your question.Hematomas are considered complications of surgery and are never normal. They need to be addressed by your surgeon. If the hematoma is small and not expanding it may be OK to leave it alone. However, if it is early enough in the process it may be able to be aspirated with a needle in the office. If the hematoma is enlarging or not resolving with conservative measures you may need to have another surgery to treat the complication. As always, it is best to see your ...
Double chin removal - Can the fat be used to augment my cheeks and perhaps my under eye area?
Double chin and fat transfer
Dec 13, 2016
Thank you for your question and photos.Based on your photos you do not seem to be a very good candidate for neck liposuction. While there is some excess fat in the area, the more pronounced issue is loose skin. For full correction this should be addressed with a surgical neck lift. You are right, that you could use filler to your cheeks, while fat grafting in this area is helpful to restore some of the volume lost with age, you would likely benefit from a facelift at the same time.As ...
So my breast augmentation is this coming Thursday (Merry Christmas to me!) but I am so incredibly nerv
Nervous before breast augmentation
Dec 12, 2016
Thank you for your question. You are not alone in being nervous about your upcoming surgery. I always tell my patients that if you don't have some nervousness before surgery, you wouldn't be human. In my practice, I always inform my patients that if you feel like your nerves are getting the best of you, come into the office and we can talk about it. Just by sitting with your surgeon and having them answer your questions and concerns will make you more comfortable. Best of luck with your up...
How effective is Cellfina in treating thigh cellulite?
Effectiveness of Cellfina
Dec 12, 2016
Thank you for your question.Cellfina is a minimally invasive procedure that treats the structural cause of cellulite by releasing tight bands of tissue that pull your skin down creating the dimpled appearance. In my opinion it is the only current treatment available that actually makes a significant difference in the appearance of cellulite. While the risk profile is low, I would recommend you discuss with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss the treatment in more detail...
Point of incision scars after cellfina - what do they look like?
Does Cellfina treatment leave scars?
Dec 12, 2016
Thank you for your question. The entry points for the Cellfina system require a small puncture in the skin not much larger than a needle. Therefore, while you may see some areas of redness for the first few weeks to months these are generally extremely small and should not be noticeable.I recommend you have a discussion with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss all the details of the Cellfina treatment.Best Regards,Dr. Ross Stutman
How do I find a good doctor who is experienced with Cellfina cellulite treatment in my local area?
How to choose a Cellfina provider
Dec 12, 2016
Thank you for your question.Cellfina is a minimally invasive procedure. While the risk profile is low, you certainly want to find a physician that is comfortable with the technique. As with any cosmetic procedure here are a few things you should be asking your provider:1) Are they a board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.2) Ask to see before and after photos.3)Make sure they perform a detailed exam including asking about any medical issues.4) Sometimes "gut" feelings are...
Are Cellfina results permanent or is maintenance required?
How long do Cellfina results last?
Dec 12, 2016
Thank you for your question. In short, we do not know how long the results from Cellfina last. The technology is just too new. From the initial studies the FDA approved the manufacturer to claim results will last 2 years. That has now been extended to 3 years. Based on the science of how the technology works, I would predict that the results will be permanent, but until we have more long term follow up there is no way to know. What I can tell you is that the technology is truly a game cha...
Can you have Cellfina performed on the WHOLE front of thighs and inner thighs?
Cellfina to front/inner thighs
Dec 12, 2016
Thank you for your question.Cellfina is a great treatment for cellulite. True cellulite is more commonly seen on the posterior thighs and buttocks. While the inner thighs and front of thighs usually develop "wavy" skin from looseness of the tissues. Some patients will have true cellulite in these areas, therefore an in depth consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon will help you determine what treatment(s) are best for you.Best Regards,Dr. Stutman
Are Cellfina results provider/operator-dependent?
Who should do your Cellfina treatment?
Dec 12, 2016
Thank you for your question. Cellfina is a minimally invasive procedure and certainly requires the expertise of a physician comfortable with surgical procedures. I would recommend that you see a board certified plastic surgeon and discuss the procedure and have an in depth consultation to see if you are a candidate.Best Regards,Dr. Ross Stutman
What are the hard knots/bumps under the skin after having Cellfina?
Knots after Cellfina
Dec 12, 2016
Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon to have some firm areas where you had the Cellfina treatment performed. This is likely due to a small amount of scar tissue that builds up after the injury to the fibrous bands that were released during the procedure. Like any scar on the body, the body will naturally soften these areas as they heal. Do not be discouraged. Gentle massage can help the areas soften more quickly.Best Regards,Dr. Stutman
Cellfina VS Cellulaze - which one is better and why?
Cellfina or Cellulaze
Dec 12, 2016
Thank you for your question. I do not offer cellulaze in my practice, based on the relatively subtle changes I have seen from other physicians before and after photos as well as the risk profile for the patient. Cellfina, on the other hand has been an absolute game changer when it comes to treating cellulite on the buttock and posterior thighs. It is a minimally invasive procedure performed in the office. There is very little down time associated, minimal risk, and very well tolerated. M...
I have very small and flat breast. What can i do to increase my breast size?
Breast Enlargement
Dec 5, 2016
Thank you for your question.Increasing the size of your breasts can be accomplished with breast augmentation using breast implants. There are a number of different sizes available. A detailed discussion with a board certified plastic surgeon will help you navigate through the process.Best of luck!Dr. Stutman
Help in choosing size - I was wanting to stay a full C, my boyfriend wants the DD?
Choosing breast implant size
Jul 13, 2016
Thank you for your question. To determine what procedure(s) are going to be best for you, you need to be carefully examined by a board certified plastic surgeon. In your initial consultation you should discuss what YOUR goals are (not your bf). Only after a complete discussion of your goals coupled with an exam of your current breast shape and size can a surgical plan be put into place.Best of luck with your procedure.Dr. Stutman
