Thanks for your question. I usually advise my patients to begin gradually increasing activity after surgery, do a little more each day, as Dr. Spring stated. There are no specific exercises to help with the process, just time and patience. Best of luck on a speedy and successful recovery.

If you are less than 6 months out from your surgery, I would advise you to give this more time. Thank you for your question. The fact that you had previous PE with your tummy tuck does put you at a greater risk for recurrence with subsequent surgeries. I would advise you to discuss this with your PS as well as your internist. The tummy tuck procedure is certainly a longer procedure than a lift, but as with any surgery you should always weigh the risks against the benefits. Best of luck.

Thank you for your question. It is very common for patients to complain that they look bigger after liposuction than before the procedure. Most patients experience bruising for approximately 2 weeks, and swelling for up to 3 months. It may take 3-4 months to see final results so be patient with yourself, this will improve with time. Of course, I would encourage you to keep in touch with your PS regarding any concerns you may have about your results. Best of luck.

Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon for patients to report a slight increase in weight after liposuction, due to swelling. The swelling takes several weeks, sometimes 2-3 months to subside. Be patient with yourself and allow your body time to heal. Best of luck.

Thank you for your question. Pain is subjective and varies from patient to patient based on tolerance levels, etc. Most of my patients complain of pain for 2-3 days following augmentation and report a definite decrease by day three. In my practice we use anti-inflammatory meds in conjunction with pain meds, and this seems more effective than pain meds alone. As Dr. Ching stated, most patients are able to resume normal activity within 1 week with the exception of heavy lifting…

Hi. Thank you for your question. Actually, I see several ladies in my office in the same situation as yourself. At the time of your original implants, they consisted of a “runny” silicone material. Now they are different in that they will not ooze or have migration of the silicone or gel. I see few ruptured implants filled with the new “gummy” material. However, there is no guarantee. Thank you for your question. I think you were without your compression garment too long and way too early. Liposuction requires compression for several weeks post op. Especially when you are up and moving around during the day. I only let me patieints remove their garment while showering. Wondering if the swelling didn’t get better after you put your garment back on. Be patient and give it a few more weeks. Hopefully you’ll have a great result. Good luck.

Thank you for your question. Liposuction patients can have swelling up to 4 to 6 weeks post op. I don’t think it’s a bad idea to continue to wear your compression garment while you are up and about during the day. I think your excercise regimen is okay at this point in your post op recovery period. Give your surgery a couple more weeks. Hopefully your swelling will continue to lessen and you’ll have a great result. Good luck
