Is this likely male pattern baldness, telogen effluvium, or DUPA?
Work Up Needed
Feb 19, 2023
It does look a bit diffuse to me- but regardless I think the right thing to do would be to get a work up with lab and hair analysis- start a regimen of laser cap, prescription topicals, and prescription meds and reevaluate. I am seeing more of this type of hair loss on my online treatment platform.
Is the use of finasteride after a hair transplant the general consensus among hair surgeons?
Yes
Feb 19, 2023
It is important to maintain the grafts – they will be under attack just like before surgery. So you need to balance the hormones that cause hair loss.
7 months since hair transplant, still having density issue
Other treatments?
Feb 18, 2023
Are you using other prescription treatments or laser cap? Have you had any PRP sessions after your transplant?
Is there a way to grow my hair back? I don’t think have MPB, but it’s most likely diffuse thinning. (ph
Yes
Feb 16, 2023
I think you would benefit from a multi-faceted approach with prescription topicals, finasteride and supplements. Consider a hair analysis. We do that in my practice which serves all US states except New Mexico (pending)
I had sensorineural hearing loss 20 years ago. I’m thinking of having hair transplant. Will lidocaine m
No
Feb 16, 2023
It shouldn’t. The lidocaine used is minimal and should not be a cause for worsening hearing loss. Hope that helps- our transplant surgeons take my patients from the US to Turkey and we have not had this problem. Thanks.
Hair loss 4 years after minoxidil – can oral therapy help with hair growth? 44 y/o female
Not too late
Feb 16, 2023
In my practice I like to use oral spironolactone for women to block estrogen effect. The best thing to do is to get a good work up if you haven’t to check your hormone access. If balanced, then I like to use Capillus laser cap therapy (the RX model with the most lasers) along with topical solution compounded in a certain way as well a hair supplement like Nurish or Nutrafol. Please let me know if you have any questions- I can answer questions in all states except New Mexico (license pending).
hair is diffusely thinning, could this be caused by AGA or TE
TE
Feb 15, 2023
I think this looks more like TE. It should regrow on its own. Consider testing for hormones and using other prescription meds. Please reach out to me with any questions.
