A tummy tuck can be done as a solitary procedure. Many times the results are enhanced by adding liposuction to the hip and love handle area.

A tummy tuck is also done in combination with a breast augmentation in a mommy makeover.

You would not have much improvement with a mini-tummy tuck. A full tummy tuck would be a great procedure for you and would allow for maximal skin resection and optimal abdominal muscle wall repair. (William T. Stoeckel, MD, Raleigh-Durham Plastic Surgeon)

You will need a full abdominoplasty for maximal result given your skin laxity and stretch marks. I would not waste your money on a mini. (Samer W. Cabbabe, MD, FACS, Saint Louis Plastic Surgeon)

Achieving pre-pregnancy tummy tuck

A full tummy tuck can improve some but not all of the changes that you have seen as a result of pregnancy. Loose skin, loose abdominal wall, and some stretch marks can be repaired or removed. Unfortunately some of your stretch marks cannot be removed as part of a full tummy tuck.

One interesting option is to consider a fleur-de-lis type procedure where a segment of tissue is removed from the center of the abdomen vertically as well as a horizontal segment near your waistline. In doing do , a larger portion of stretch marks can be removed. (Remus Repta, MD, Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon)

Without the benefit of an exam and going based just on the photo I would say you would benefit from a full tummy tuck. Some of the stretch marks will be able to be excised with the tummy tuck, but there is a good chance that you will have residual stretch marks.

There is nothing that will remove the stretch marks that remain, but you can discuss with your plastic surgeon about what options would work best to address the pigmentation. (Arun Rao, MD, Tucson Plastic Surgeon)
